Lol on the "olaf beats riven". Its mainly skill a good riven will beat a good olaf. Rivens mechanics allow for much better harass because she can shield the true damage and disrupt the empowered autos. She gets in the stun and free autos possibly more depending if she needs Q to escape. Then olaf only gets an axe on her maybe an auto. Dunno I have trouble with riven and if theyre smart you lose the lane. Olaf also loses really hard early because of the disruption and E ~~usually sucks early~~ sucks as a level one skill against her she does more dmg, same with shyv. If you lane them try to get axe to get free damage a little bit and keep em back. Lvl 1 E olaf loses to level 1 riven with Q or stun.

The Q was a buff mainly to his jungle and kinda a nerf to late game. With the new axe damage, its quicker to clear a route. Like now you can wolves-blue-enemy red. Same as mundo jungle, so it has sped his early jungle up a lot.

As for the ult, so far I'm a fan. Helps a lot early, esp since most things arent DoTs.

Ryze has to be smart early but once he gets some CDR all you can do is axe him. You could take movespeed quints and get early MR to catch him. Its tough. Rumble is the hard counter to olaf. Shields the true damage and gets move speed from that, he has a slow and whenever you try to get close he has flamethrower. Also once he gets revolver or WoTA ur finished. Kennen can free farm and harass you, its hard to harass him. I havent laned a teemo yet but I imagine he wont be able to do much

Hell I wish I had supports that get starks. Its very rare that I get it, I think i got it in 1 of the last 15 games with him. I get it when I need more DPS and a bit more sustain in fights. Its for when their AP carry cant burst you so youre not focused but when you need more sustain to survive in fights. With armor pen reds, a ghostblade, olafs ult, and starks thats some serious armor pen, I think itll be around 100.

I should probably start getting BTs instead now that I think about it.....

With that, just back off. A few champs can zone olaf a bit early. Renekton being one but once you get your wriggles you should be ok. After that you true damage renekton any time he comes close and heal up by autoattacking creeps. The thing with olaf and I guess every champ is, you need to trade on your terms. Like you cant let rene slice in for a combo every time and not get any damage off on him. you need to ax him when he is csing your melee minions and then come in with true damage and an auto attack if you can. After he uses his combo, zone him out and get your health back. Early on it can be tough but tough it out, maybe take tele and then just grab wriggles/tabi and come back to lane.

I start with cloth 5 or boots 3. Ill get a wriggles and then merc or ninja. If Im doing well Ill get a heart of gold and then get my atmogs. If someone get DFG or madreds Ill usually build FoN and Omen/Frozen and then get starks/ghostblade for damage.

Rumble completely shuts olaf down. SMART GPs can shut him down, might be hard to farm a bit early. Kennen has way too much poke for him to sustain through and that stun kills him. Teemo does. Ryze can. Just dont take true damage, you may miss a few CS but you can just harass him out of lane.

Im a finance/accounting major but my roommate is a CS major and I have an interest in technology. As far as I can tell a LOT of recruiters come here. Intel has a major branch here and a lot of datacenter types are here too. Hes is a sophomore and is taking a lot of math currently which is to be expected (calc 1 2 and 3) but he has taken a few java classes because that is the language that he likes the most. Hes taken a hardware course which was very low level like XOR gates and the likes in processors and circuitry. Hes also taken intro to web design and similar classes. As far as pure education goes, it is a good place to go. ASU is a bit pricey for out of state but certain schools are worth it. Another thing is the clubs, there are a LOT of clubs for computer science, a redditor here is president of one. I cant remember it off the top of my head but its a good club. The main one I know of is called DISC, which is department of information systems club. Its sorta geared towards the CIS major but any CS or CE degree would feel at home. The funny thing is a lot of the people there are sorta dumb and just intern hungry but thats why great about this club they bring in big name companies that offer internships to ASU students and more specifically DISC members. Coming from a non CS major as long as you get involved there are GREAT opportunities here, also the networking from having so many people here is awesome.
