The characters in no way have anything to do with the freezing. It's the patch and the game data feeding each other opposite information.

You delete both

reinstall both

and it'll work.

Um no it wasn't.

You just had to delete the game data and the patch(NOT YOUR FUCKING SAVES).

After reinstalling those you were good to go...WITH YOUR OLD CHARACTERS.

Mother fucking poisonous world in Demon's Souls. Many rages were had. It's not that the game is hard after you learn the mechanics (first hour or two). ITS THE FUCKING ENTIRE GROUND THAT IS POISON. THE ENTIRE GROUND!

I once almost made it to the other side, then I got poisoned and died before I scrolled to my grass.
