Fireworks CS5 & CS6 - Export as HTML ignores settings such as background repeat and page alignment by Kriemin webdev

Fireworks is definitely not a WYSIWYG editor. Check out Fireworks CS6. It's so much better than PS for webdesign.

Right, so a workaround I guess. Thanks! :)

I still need my prototype to be centered. Also, would that fill up the entire screen?

Well, that's certainly creepy :/

I don't support IE6, nor IE7. IE8 rudimentary only.

The unwillingly and unfamiliar? "Why should I change? It works just fine" or "There are other browsers?"

Good to see IE is finally plummeting.

Check out the links in a post of mine somewhere around here.

Yes, that'll work. :) Good luck with your designers!

I know, it's the comfort zone alright. I understand that. At least check the options. PS isn't the holy grail. (nor is FW for that matter)

IMHO, the gradient tool is perfect for what I want to accomplish. The effects tool is a bit different than PS. Different, not better or worse I think.

Again, give it a try or two. :)

How to set the css properties of an object with its own data-attributes in jQuery? by Kriemin webdev

[–]Kriem[S] 0 points1 point ago

Sorry for the late reaction. :) Your idea is very interesting. It gives me the freedom to write a whole bunch of css that gets mapped into working css. Nice one. Thanks!

Didn't see 'our' in your reply. :) Anyway, check this out: http://www.reinegger.net/50_reasons_not_to_use_photoshop_for_webdesign.html - I know what you're saying. I've come from a loooong history of (ab)using PS for webdesign. I tried Fireworks after some research and had to conclude that it has speed up my workflow incredibly. At least, my workflow. :)

EDIT: Also, interesting discussion: http://webdesign.tutsplus.com/articles/readers-polls/readers-poll-photoshop-vs-fireworks-which-one-do-you-use/#comments

Disagree. I use it. And it's way better than PS at web design. PS was never intended as a screen design tool. It's an illustration and photo manipulation tool. Fireworks is perfect (well, almost then, it too has bugs) for web design.
