Willis and Bowman looking to make a run at the Dome Patrol for best linebacking corps in NFL history. Both coached by Vic Fangio... coincidence?

What has been your most painful physical experience? by forgetabouttheclownin AskReddit

[–]KingGirardeau 2 points3 points ago

Along the same lines. I was drunk fool on a 2 week long binge (Just turned 21) that ended in a day long heavy drinking session. I woke up the next day with a pain in my gut. I thought I was just having a bad hangover so I went about my business until I was reduced to the fetal position 2 days later. I threw up about every hour or 30 minutes. By the 3rd time I was throwing up straight stomach acid. The next 50 times were just painful painful dry heaves with a little bit of what I thought was bile. Finally, I walked to the infirmary on campus where they put me in a room where I tried to sleep while they ran my blood work. They gave me a GI cocktail which I threw up a bunch of times but they weren't able to give me anything for the pain because they didn't know what was wrong. After a while they told me I needed to go to the hospital for further analysis. I waited about 4 hours while my parents drove from my hometown to the college I was going to and then drove me to the hospital back home where my uncle worked. Then I waited what felt like the longest wait of my life in the ER. Finally they told me I had pancreatitis and gave me Hydromorphone. For the next 5 days I was on I.V.'s with a dose of hydromorphone every hour. Worst pain I ever experienced and I am no stranger to injuries.

I am sorry but "lorry" just sounds so... weak. Work on making things sound less pathetic, British people. Come on.

The myth of decline bench? by KingGirardeauin Fitness

[–]KingGirardeau[S] 0 points1 point ago

Well now knowing a little bit more about decline lifts in general, I'm not so sure the mind-muscle connection will be the same. I already work dips into my routine, so now I will just place more importance on them and focus on the forward lean to hit the lower chest as opposed to just the straight up and down for triceps.

The myth of decline bench? by KingGirardeauin Fitness

[–]KingGirardeau[S] 2 points3 points ago

I always knew the correlation between shorter distance and more weight, but I was taught that angle hits the under-side of the chest. Decline has always been part of my chest routine and hearing this kinda shattered my weight lifting world. I guess the moral of the story is independent research is your best bet. But it brings up another question: are decline flys also a waste of time?

Saw this today on the bus... Seriously? by aquarianexposition1in WTF

[–]KingGirardeau 0 points1 point ago

I see the points you are making about equality. Technically, you are right. Equality means equal. But, where you go completely off the tracks is assuming that black people are afforded the same opportunities as whites. A great majority of blacks are subjected to a system of disenfranchisement which starts with poor education. From there it stems to career and family life. The fact that you think they are afforded the same opportunities as white people really shows how small your world view is.

I don't believe ironic is the correct term. More like expected.

R/NFL, I present to you the Bill Walsh Coaching Tree by worldrunningin nfl

[–]KingGirardeau 0 points1 point ago

Brian Billick's tree is too small. Mavin Lewis, Mike Nolan, Mike Smith, Rex Ryan, Jack Del Rio, Mike Singletary, all coached under Billick. I think I am even forgetting at least 1 more.

What is the most soul crushing thing you've ever had to do? by TinyDancer1221in AskReddit

[–]KingGirardeau 0 points1 point ago

I'm late to the thread but I figured I would share. When I was a freshmen in college I was rooming with my best friend. We had been best friends since 3rd grade and still are to this day. He has a close knit family, just as I do. Being as close as we are we both know each other's families pretty well.

He had a cousin who was a year older than us. My buddy used to look up to him like the older brother he didn't have. We used to hang out as kids and then party together as we got older. He was really good guy but he had some emotional problems. He had attempted suicide once and luckily was discovered and taken to the hospital. My friend took this really hard. He was upset for awhile and mad that he would even think about killing himself but realized he needed help. His whole family made it a point to let the cousin know how much he was loved.

A few weeks later I get a call from my friend's dad. He tells me that my friend's cousin was in a car accident and didn't make it. He just found out was on his way out to our university to pick up my friend. He hasn't told him yet because he wanted to do it in person, and wanted me to make sure he was OK until he got there. It was one of the longest 3 hours of my life. I had to sit there and swallow my sadness in our little dorm room and pretend everything was cool, it was just another day. I bullshitted with him until his father got there and I let them have some time alone. I gave them hugs as they left, but never told him that I had known first. Man, that sucked.

What sports leagues are the most balanced? What teams are the most dominant? A global comparison. by dwu2in sports

[–]KingGirardeau 0 points1 point ago

What you are failing to account for is then who wins those championships the Yankees would have? They get distributed among other teams, maybe the same teams which causes a new dominant team. It is impossible to separate one team out.

This is the truth. Not to be a dick because we were all teenagers at some point. The problem is you don't know what you don't know.

The stories behind any scars you have on your body by childish18in AskReddit

About a 4 inch gash across the back of my left hand. I was at a house party in college at a buddies place. The basement was unfinished but had one wall separating a dedicated pong room from the rest of the basement. That wall pretty quickly took a lot of punches and kicks from angry pong players. The holes in the wall sent a message to drunks that it was ok to destroy. Once all the drywall had been punched out the studs remained with the nails sicking out about 1/4 from where they were sunk into the drywall. I was being a drunk dick when I walked up and grabbed a 40 out of my friends hand a quickly turned around to chug it in front of him without letting him grab it back. As I turned I was too close to the studs, caught my hand on an exposed nail and ripped the back of my hand wide open. It took me a few seconds of chugging to realize what happened. 6 years later it reminds me to never snag another man's 40.
