Iran Navy Helps U.S. Ship Attacked by Pirates in Middle East by salvia_din worldnews

[–]Kimano 0 points1 point ago

I don't know if there's any way to really know without testing it. My intuition would say that the more uniformly people merge, the faster the lane will move (as you'll have to stop less often). If everyone else is merging early, you should as well.

Merging later doesn't change the bottleneck, which is the single lane further down.

I would think that the more time you had to match speed and merge, the more smoothly the lane of traffic would move. if you wait until the end to merge, you have to slow to a stop, meaning the person letting you in must be essentially stopped as well. If you merge earlier, you could be going at speed, which means the person letting you in doesn't need to stop either.

I mean, I get the wooosh thing, I've just never understood people who thing trolling is clever or amusing.

All you being able to troll me means is I have a low opinion of you. Not sure how that makes you a comedic genius (not you specifically).

I mean when one lane of a road is closed, and someone in line leaves the already merged lane and tried to drive past a bunch of traffic to get ahead of other people.

Just got back from a trip where some jackass tried this and a trucker cut them off and drove reeeealllly slowlllyyy down the lane in front of them until they merged back in. It was amazing.

I've honestly never understood the whole "I'm going to say something stupid, and you're stupid for not knowing I'm not that stupid" thing. Same with trolling, just seems a bit stupid to me.

I understand that it sucks that our country doesn't desire to be educated, but at the end of the day, you have to give people what they want. If people didn't want the horseshit Fox News peddles, they wouldn't watch it.

It's viable certainly, though you're right, it's far easier to dps with a proper tank.

And you can even teleport through some dungeon walls and up and down cliffs. I haven't had very many problems with things I can't tele to.

Yeah. Dead dps is 0 dps. Plus later bosses it's almost impossible to res just due to the damage. If you stand still you die, so you can't even count on rezzes.

Your HONEST thoughts about Diablo 3? What do you like/don't like? by peacefulcommunistin Diablo

Things I love:
-Scaling/progression feels perfect. No matter what level you are there's always something to look forward to in the next 2/3 levels.
-Mob scaling is great. It's not too impossible, not too easy. You can tell how much great experience they got tuning bosses from WoW here.
-Items are just random enough that good stuff isn't easy to find, but you can find a use for almost everything.
-Gems are great. The ability to upgrade them and take them with you permanently is brilliant. Being able to customize your gear with that little big of variance makes so many items that wouldn't otherwise be viable good.
-Every weapon can be used by almost every class. While I wasn't initially sold on this (a wizard with a huge fuck-off axe kinda ruins the immersion), I've grown to appreciate how nice it is to get a 250 dps 1h axe and be able to swap it in, rather than waiting on a staff or wand to drop.
-All the classes have a huge range of variability. While grinding Nightmare, our barb had to leave for work, so I threw on a shield, swapped a bunch of skills around and made a pretty passable tank. Not great, but it worked, and that's awesome. (protip: don't try this on hell+. I still haven't pulled all of the shoe leather out of my ass). -Even though there are only a few skills, the variability in runed spell graphics makes it feel like there are way more. That graphical distinction is a huge part of why the skills feel as unique and robust as they do.
-TP being moved to a no-cd no-limit skill you can use whenever. I'm just so, so glad they got rid of identify and tp scrolls. -Unique drops are amazing. Not having to deal with people running pickit is great.

Things I dislike: -Can't cancel auctions in the gold auction house. I totally understand where this is coming from for the RMAH, but for the gold auction house it just feels stupid. Alternately, take away the 10 item limit (also on the gold ah only).
-Invincible minion enchanted champions. (Seriously, fuck the guy who thought that would be a good idea. Arcane enchanted/Frozen + Horde + Invincible minions is the stupidest shit I've ever dealt with.)
-I like that one bad player doesn't ruin it for the group. In games like MOBAs, one bad player can easily fail you out with no recourse. In D3, you can pretty easily carry one bad player, even at the higher difficulty levels, as long as you're playing well.
- The act bosses don't feel much more powerful on later difficulties. The butcher was an awesome, hard cool fight when we did it at level 12 on normal. At 35 on Nightmare he felt like a bit of a pushover. These seem really hit or miss. For instance, Diablo was decently hard on nightmare and normal. Asmodan was a joke on nightmare. This seems even more compounded for the 'minibosses': Siege breaker, spider succubus chick, izual, etc all seemed way easier the second time through. Though this may just be as a result of all the added utility from level 30+ skills.
-Potions and gems need unique colors.
-Error 37. =P

That's most of what I can think of off the top of my head.

My main observations as a level 51 wizard in hell: holy shit the damage it hurts.

You pretty much have to design your entire build on survivability and dps while moving. Things that are great in nightmare/normal are trash in hell. Disintegrate, Ray of Frost, Electrocute, etc. basically anything that requires you to stand still while dpsing. Abilities that are shoot'n'scoot are amazing: meteor, arcane orb, hydra, etc.

With party members tanking (a really geared barb for instance), it's easier to use those types of abilities. They're also great on bosses. For instance, the Numb'd (60% slow) Ray of Frost is godly for bosses.

The other thing is just how in-demand our skill slots are. In Hell, teleport + diamond skin + an armor are virtually mandatory. I also consider frost nova basically required as well. That only leaves two slots for damage abilities, meaning you've got to get every little bit of efficiency you can out of those two slots. I'm a fan of a frost build using comet meteor and the Cold Blood (reduced cost) ray of frost.

It's pretty obvious that it would defeat the entire purpose of hardcore, i.e. leveling and gearing a character with the risk of death the entire time.

A much more understandable question might be 'can you take a dead hardcore character and use him in softcore'?

Interesting, never knew that. So not only do you have to finish with the fuel you have, you have to finish with some to spare.

Is that a requirement to win? They have to check your fuel to make sure you weren't cheating or something?
