What, single pivots? Can't get my simpler than what is pictured.

Those types of lock cores are easily broken. Jam a screwdriver in them, twist, and they'll come right out. I've had to do this when I lost the keys to my roof rack.

Guess who will be buying a full face helmet ASAP? THIS GUY, THAT'S WHO. by orangutangoin MTB

Learning how to crash helps a lot, too. The general rule of thumb is to not us your face as a brake.

It's your head we're talking about protecting, do you really want to get cheap with this piece of equipment?

Yo MTB! I just purchased my first bike! A Felt Nine Trail. 29inch tires. Any suggestions for a first timer? Anyone know of good trails in Wyoming? I'm stoked to join the party! by ur_killing_me_smallsin MTB

[–]JoeBMX 0 points1 point ago

Teton Pass is amazing, but I wouldn't go near those trails with that bike as you'd probably die. Sorry, only been to Wyoming once and Teton Pass was my destination.

Any type of bike lock is just a deterrent. If somebody wants your bike, they'll take your bike. My favorite thing to do when leaving the bike locked in a rack, like when quickly running into a store, is to remove the axles, which, is easy to do with thru axles like maxles and syntace axles. If somebody does want to steal the bike, they'll have a bike that's unrideable and difficult to carry, and they'll hopefully hurt themselves trying to ride away with it.

What are your favorite things to do with friends that are cheap, easy and instantly fun? by Noedelin AskReddit

Expanding on this. Tag, on a bike. Roll up a towel, duck tape it so it stays rolled up, and who ever has the rolled up towel in their hand is 'it' and has to throw the rolled up towel at somebody else to make them it. Hours and hours of fun, and you burn tons of calories racing around trying to tag eachother. Please wear a helmet when doing this though, crashes may occur and the last thing you want is to knock yourself silly.

Seriously Ibis, could you make this thing sharper? Worst design ever for an otherwise brilliant bike. by mexicanpizzain MTB

[–]JoeBMX 0 points1 point ago

Except the clamping area is proprietary and wont accept any other clamps other than Ibis ones. I'm in the same boat with my HD, except I don't use a quick release as I have a dropper post. I'm definitely not delusional about its silly downfalls like this.

All I can think about is how terrible their hang overs are going to be the next morning. And all the terrible terrible alcohol shits they will be making.

Can we have a conversation about the number of "look what I bought" photo posts? by floatyvervein MTB

[–]JoeBMX -2 points-1 points ago

I echo this. I really do not give a shit about a $100/$1,000/$10,000 bike leaned up against something. It's basically a zero effort karma whore. I do not give a damn what you own, lets see what you can do with it.

A $300 or $3000 dollar bike leaned up against something is equally stupid as fuck.

Explaining Mac users, /b/ style. by GiPwnerin 4chan

[–]JoeBMX 1 point2 points ago

lol the adobe software suite works exactly the same on both operating systems. Final Cut Pro X? LOL. That's a piece of joke software that no professional company should ever take seriously. I do not understand that phrase "Macs are better for graphic design." I own and work with both an i7 Mac laptop and homebuilt i7 Win7 desktop. The build quality on the laptop is above and beyond nice, I'll give it that.

I am so grateful to be in California. by TheKrauseyin MTB

[–]JoeBMX 0 points1 point ago

I'm not. Pictured trails above are in a grey area of legality. Everything else that is fun in the bay area (aka, anything a DH bike is great for), is word of mouth only and highly illegal with fines at $500 or more if you get popped by the law. The Bay flat out sucks for DH. We've got plenty of multi-use fire roads for you 29ers, though! yippe! -_-

its been over a year since i have had a bike after my last one was stolen and finally this came in. by ACGAUMin MTB

[–]JoeBMX 2 points3 points ago

Renters or home owners insurance, folks. Buy it and make sure it covers your $10k+ bikes and you won't have to worry about shit like this. I don't know about you guys, but I've had nightmares about getting a bike stolen so I went and bought renters insurance the next day. Living in the hood does this to you.

I have a rear rack on my bike. This is how I fixed it on the trail. by tarkoonin MTB

[–]JoeBMX 2 points3 points ago

First thing that was odd to me is who has a rack like this on the trail?

ROFL. If you want to watch a NWD part 8498459845, then go buy that. This film isn't suppose to be that. This is a film I show my non-riding friends what this sport is all about and they always enjoy it. It pisses me off to know how much work the creators put in to this only for their work to be cut down by some idiot behind a keyboard who watched the thing in 360x240 on youtube...

I agree. Smaller chain. Faster wear. More shit I have to buy to update. I bet the downvotes for you are from the same type of idiots who are in love with 29ers. Keep gobbling that industry cock, folks.
