I really want to believe you're joking.

If you aren't, I'd very much like to design a double-blind experiment where I have this director create a series of videos, explicitly state what they're about, and then have these same videos shown to you, and have you explain your interpretation.

If your interpretation is substantially similar to the director's interpretation over several films, we can say that you probably aren't completely full of shit.

Edit: I'm serious. I accept that there are often underlying themes and subtexts and stories in an artistic work, and I've been known to read too much into things, but I've rarely imagined so much bullshit about anything. If someone wants to find proof somewhere that this NickVenture person has perfectly analysed this and had no prior knowledge of the video and is not in any way affiliated with the person who made it, I'll listen... I'm just very, very skeptical.

Edit 2: I was actually going to use 'Starship Troopers' as an example a movie I once read far too much into. NickVenture did it for me, though. Except he doesn't realize he's reading too much into it. He really needs to listen to the director's commentary.
