Engadget article stating that jury found Google guilty of 2 counts of minor copyright infringement, to the tune of $150k a piece. Still sounds like over all good news.

LPT: If you accidentally hit caps in Word and type a sentence/paragraph without realizing, just highlight it and hit shift+F3 to un-capitalize it by quaxonin LifeProTips

Stop looking at your hands, and you should never have this problem. Good for copy pasting Capped sentences though.

Thanks for the tip.

Come on. That pun was in poo taste.

TIL . Steam engines had two spinning balls on top that were used to regulate the steam flow and thus keep the speed constant. Those balls would fly in or out according to how fast it was going. When it was running at top speed, it was said to be "Balls to the wall", or "Balls out". by cassus_fettin todayilearned

[–]JHStarner 1 point2 points ago

Learned while in the Navy that "Balls to the wall" was what it meant when a ship was listing(leaning). There are devices on board that show where gravity is pulling straight down, something like this. Now imagine, instead of a pendant on a focal point, it was simply a ball in a curved recess. When the ship would tilt to far one side or the other, it would literally be "balls to the wall", and you could actually walk on the wall sometimes. Have a hard time believing the wiki-answers over this, as every sailor I worked with knew the meaning I described since Navy Basic Training.

There's a link in r/politics right now that accuses conservatives of coordinating an effort against wind energy. Is this propaganda or are there actually people who dont want to see wind energy being used? by oscarasimovin Conservative

Here is one bit: http://zfacts.com/node/244

There is a graph mid way down showing the initial cost. And I am still looking for maintenance stuff. I could have been a fallacy, it could have been a recent thing. But I will post it when I find it.

I do think that off shore ones are less to worry about over time than land, plus they are more efficient because there is almost always winds over the water when out to sea. Many people here don't want them built off shore though, because they are "eyesores" and would ruin the view. My mum lives/works on Martha's Vineyard, and they have some of the strongest winds off shore. There was an initiative or vote recently (few years maybe?) to build off shore. The residents voted against it.

EDIT: Forbes article talking about how their production in real life models are over stated and they do not cut down on any kind of carbon footprint.

I would prefer it not be used because it costs more than it produces. (Have read that they cost more in maintenance than the energy they produce). So if they could become more efficient and less costly in production, install/setup, and maintenance then yeah, they'd be worth it. But right now it isn't cost effective for anyone to really utilize wind energy.

Only witness I have is what I told SolidCloud

I do have experience of it working. I was in a match. I had to run AFK because I have a toddler that was doing something stupid (as toddlers do), and needed to keep him from hurting himself. That took a little bit. When I rushed back to the computer, I ran back into combat, and got a message on screen, something to the effect of, "You have initiated combat, votekick has been cancelled". Sorry, that's the best I got.

Don't quite know how I would fare against Stephen Fry. But I'd be entertained either way.

I think once the vote is initiated, they can run all they want, they have to actually fight (combat is what kicks out the votekick routine). Unless there is some sort of num-lock combat combo I don't know of, they can run like Forrest Gump all day long, unless they just keep running into battle, but you have to re-initiate num-lock run with each death. So they'd still have to be at keyboard to just run and die, run and die, run and die.

Apologies, read too fast, and saw "I don't know". Wasn't meant to be demeaning or elitist in my phrasing. I don't have a screen shot, but I do have experience of it working. I was in a match. Right click on their name in the Ops window, and it will initiate votekick. Make a message in ops chat for others to do the same. Once a certain number of votes are hit, the player has about 30-60 seconds to initiate combat or else they are kicked from the game.

Quick request, while we're at it... YouTube comments are getting a bit over done. I will admit that I've giggled at quite a few, but the majority are lack luster at best, and down votes don't seem to keep them away.
