It's not the weird old hippie who's against legalization. Firstly, he likely has very little influence (read: money) on the legislators who have the power to change the law. Secondly, he's probably not in it for the money and it's comparatively chump change, anyway.

The real entities against legalization are the institutions with the means, motive and opportunity to keep it illegal because it's otherwise against their best interest: law enforcement, pharma manufacturers, and a broad range of compromised government agencies (FBI, DHS, etc.) among others.

It's not all these institutions, nor all members of these, and I'm trying not to sound all Unabomber conspiracy-minded about it but the motivations are pretty straightforward.

Thank you, but neither worked. compiz replace looked like it ran but then never returned to the prompt. The compizconfig settings manager said I needed to run dpkg --configure -a then also never returned to the command prompt after I ran it.

Is there a way to force a re-install in place?
