TROPHY CASE

New feature in Google Chrome? by ashique47in chrome

It's been there for at least 3-4 versions now. I think it came out right around when they implemented Cloud Print. You need it to be able to use Cloud Print when you don't have the browser open.

Comcast ditches 250GB data cap, tests tiered pricing? Anyone can confirm? by JimmyDucein cordcutters

[–]Ingenium13 0 points1 point ago

As other posters have said, it would be cheaper for you to go to Comcast Business. That's what I did, and I use around 1.1TB/month and have never had a complaint. In fact they call me to let me know if there's going to be a scheduled outage at 2am the next day! It's a bit more than residential service, but I also got a nice speed bump too.

Comcast and MLB streams - forcing you to buy cable? by strothgarin cordcutters

[–]Ingenium13 1 point2 points ago*

No bandwidth caps at all. We currently use around 1.1TB/month without issue (large house with lots of heavy internet users). It's not much more than residential service that isn't getting a promotional rate, maybe $10 more a month (assuming you don't get cable TV with it). We pay $107/month total for 22 down, 5 up.

They also call you and let you know in advance if there's going to be an outage. Only happened twice and it was around 2am and out for 30 minutes each time.

They force you to rent the modem from them though. They at first gave me a router that I couldn't disable NAT on, which I think is standard. Called and got them to replace it with a regular DOCSIS 3 modem, so be prepared to do that.

Love the feel, hate the taste. How do you get kratom down? by crimson_phantomin kratom

[–]Ingenium13 0 points1 point ago

I prefer to make my kratom as a tea(instructions). At first it can taste kind of bad, but you get used to it pretty quickly and I actually enjoy the taste now. It ends up tasting like really strong green tea.

Others have mentioned that you can let it steep for as little as a couple minutes before adding ice cubes to cool it down. I personally like to let it sit until it cools on its own to make sure I get the most out of it.

I wouldn't put the powdered leaf into capsules... you'd need way too many. However if you're going with an extract then capsules are the way to go.

Help an opiate user pick the right kind of Kratom to kick with - so many choices! by deadSproutin kratom

[–]Ingenium13[M] 0 points1 point ago

I agree with kevin143, but I would also suggest Red Vein Thai as a leaf if Bali doesn't work. In my experience I feel you can take more of it than the Bali before feeling sick, so that might be a better choice if you can't take enough Bali to cut your withdrawals. We (getkratom.com) just got this batch of Red Vein Thai in and it's particularly potent.

Tapering off kratom by JW_BlueLabelin kratom

[–]Ingenium13[M] 0 points1 point ago

When I tapered off, I found the hardest part was going to sleep. I would take it at my normal time and then take a tiny tiny bit before going to bed to help with sleep.

You may also benefit from taking a little whenever you feel any withdrawal symptoms, just enough to make them go away, but limit yourself to a total of whatever you set for that day. I find it's almost as much mental as it is physical, so being able to take a little bit really helps when you start feeling anxious.

Good luck!

Kratom hangover? by magnifico_giganticusin kratom

[–]Ingenium13[M] 2 points3 points ago

Yup, you're right about the Bali. Pretty much all the premium commercial Bali comes from the same source, which is actually in Sumatra. The main difference between vendors is how finely ground it is (and how old it is if you're using a smaller vendor. Get Kratom gets a new shipment of Bali about every 3-4 weeks). In my experience, a finer grind means the effects come on quicker and stronger (especially if made as a tea). The season (rainy season vs dry season) it was picked in also has a big effect, with the rainy season kratom being more potent, but this variation will be seen across vendors and can't be helped. I find the dry season Bali to be more likely to cause negative side effects.

Kratom hangover? by magnifico_giganticusin kratom

[–]Ingenium13[M] 2 points3 points ago

I've never had a kratom "hangover" the next day, but I will sometimes have one later that night, say 3-4 hours after I had 6-7 grams prepared as tea. It usually will be every day for a few days, then quit happening, and this is all from the exact same batch of kratom. In other words, for a given batch, I will be fine, then have the "hangover" for a few days in a row, then be fine again. So it doesn't appear to be caused by a particular batch.

I think it has a combination to do with how much food you've eaten, how hydrated you are, how quickly you drink it, and perhaps something else. I've tried dropping my dose in subsequent days and have still had it happen at as low as 2-3 grams.

In your case, since I'm assuming you just switched to this type, I would recommend trying another strain and see if you still get the hangover. If you don't, then go back and try the "premium bali" again and see if you still get the hangover.

I guess I'm a little late replying, but I run the site getkratom. We're based in Berkeley, CA, so if you're in the bay area our standard/cheapest shipping will be overnight. And you can use the coupon REDDIT10 for 10% off!

If you have any specific questions let me know.

Kratom tea and thee - please share your recipe by OhThrowMeAwayin kratom

[–]Ingenium13[M] 1 point2 points ago

Here are the instructions I use: http://kratomtalk.blogspot.com/2008/11/kratom-instructions.html

Basically add boiling water to kratom and let it steep for a while, usually until it's cool enough to drink. Then add a good amount of sweetener to it. Honey and artificial sweeteners hide the bitterness a lot better than sugar does. You can also dilute it by adding more water to it to make it taste less strong. As long as you drink it all the effect will be the same; it's the same as taking a shot of alcohol or adding that shot to the mixed drink, either way it's still a shot.

Is this typical? It seems like a lot. by morphinapgin chrome

Mine is about the same, and has always been high like this. I currently have 11 tabs open and I'm using 1.8GB of private memory. I have several extensions installed, but they aren't using much memory (15-20MB each). Gmail alone is using almost 300MB. Another reddit tab is using 238MB. A CNN article is using another 150MB. I have Flashblock installed, so none of this is from Flash content.

Once I open a couple more tabs for a serious browsing session, I often see memory usage balloon to 4GB or more... It was the reason I had to upgrade my laptop to 8GB of memory, and even now I sometimes run out, especially if I load a Windows VM with 1.5GB of memory allocated to it.

Closing and re-opening Chrome makes it go down temporarily, but after leaving the tabs open for a little while they begin consuming more memory until they're back to where they were.

Mine works fine. I have all my content on an NFS share, and it totals close to 1TB. Works perfectly over Ethernet, but at my new place I was forced to run it over 802.11n. It still doesn't choke, but there is a perceptible lag when initially playing an HD video or skipping forward or backward.

My Thinkpad T400 does this all the time. When the CPU load is 100% it goes up to around 95C then the kernel shuts down the system. I even recently took it apart, cleaned everything out, and applied new thermal paste thinking that might be the problem. It still shuts down after a few minutes of 100% CPU load. Super annoying.

[–]Ingenium13 3 points4 points ago

Yeah those batteries work great. The only thing is that it's a bitch to get all the glue off. You have to remove the labels and the glue for them to work since the MFLB shorts the battery by contacting the side (look at the metal circle inside the battery hole).

I used acetone (nail polish remover) and basically scrubbed it until it all came off. I feel like there has to be a better way though...

Nice guys at the TSA by maskakein trees

[–]Ingenium13 33 points34 points ago

Putting it in your carry on is a much better idea than checked baggage. And if you're flying out of California, they don't care because the local police have jurisdiction and won't do anything about it (ie, TSA has no real authority and calls in the local police to handle things like this). A friend had it in his pocket and went through one of the body scanners and they saw it. The TSA lady said it was fine but he still had to put it through the xray baggage scanner.

Sprint's amazing 3G speeds: the reason they can offer unlimited data by dlinkin Android

[–]Ingenium13 0 points1 point ago

That's better than me. At my old apartment in Pittsburgh I was lucky to get 40 kilobits/sec down... slower than dialup. Was like this since January, but was great (over 1Mbit) before that. I reported it to Sprint many times, and it happened with friends' phones too. I was back in that area a few days ago with a new phone and the speeds hadn't changed.

It's been 3 years. When am I going to be able to simply run a file from cache instead of having to explicitly save it somewhere? by manwithabadheartin chrome

[–]Ingenium13 1 point2 points ago

If you're using Linux, you can just save the file to /tmp and then click it in the download bar. That's what I usually do for most things I download. I'm sure there's a similar location on Windows/OS X, though it may not be as simple to get to.

Vice: Magic Mushroom Milkshakes in a Tropical Paradise by El_Chupocabrain Drugs

[–]Ingenium13 0 points1 point ago

Pretty much all other drugs in Bali are illegal, but mushrooms are in fact legal as long as they are fresh and not dried. Dried mushrooms are illegal, but fresh ones ground into a drink are not. I guess it shows the absurdity of drug laws, but that's just how it is there.

I spent a month in Bali and we made our own fruit+mushroom smoothies several times. Our very drug paranoid friend who had been living in Bali for a few years insisted that fresh mushrooms were legal. Based on his extreme paranoia of other drug related things (even legal drugs like Kratom), I trust he knew what he was talking about.

How do you have it know when you're in a meeting? I can see you doing class by manually putting in profiles based on time. I don't think the location event is precise enough to determine which room of a building you're in.
