I could care a bit less since its pretty trivial, but nonetheless irritating. Somewhat similar to your post.

Why would anybody downvote this? Usually I could care less but seeing [deleted] always drives me a bit mad. THANK YOU FOR EXPLAINING GOOD SIR!

OKC T-Shirt Company Delivers a Curbstomp to Seattle Fans by codybromin nba

I have no problem with thunder fans at all, though after commenting a couple times in r/nba I'm starting to. That sucks, but you are on the west coast so my guess is those are all former seattle residents. I was just referring to the shirt in question since its going out of its way to be a dick about it, so if I saw it I'd return the favor.

And I'm sure I'll have fun, I was somewhat joking about the comment about the city, though compared to everywhere else I've lived it really doesn't have a ton going on. People seemed nice enough the last time I was there though.

I was saying that tongue in cheek, obviously that's over the line.

No problem. That wasn't the case at all, Seattle actually was known as having one of the most die hard fan bases, as you can probably tell. Basically, the dude who owns Starbucks bought the team and was a self entitled asshole who thought because he made money selling coffee he'd win a championship in a couple years after he bought the team.

Needless to say, that didn't happen, and he kind of fucked up a team the city had loved for a while. Then he sold it to an oklahoma busisnessman who said he would try his best to keep the team there, while the entire time was planning on relocating it. Seattle had just paid for a new stadium, and wasn't trying to fund another one right away, especially because key arena wasn't that bad.

So the last couple years were poorly attended because they all knew they were getting fucked, and now okc seems like a good basketball town because they inherited a good team with likable players that turned to a playoff team before the novelty wore off. I'm sure I'll get downvoted because the okc people are apparently out in force in this thread but that's what happened, hopefully that sheds some light (but no hate on them, would've happened anywhere).

It'll be interesting to see how many players in one of the top four or five markets of nba talent historically still keep hooping now that they only have the shitty seahawks to look up to and the fucked blazers 4 miles south.

Edit: by miles I mean hours.

Basically it takes the old school logo from Seattle and superimposes the Oklahoma skyline instead of seattle's. Then pretty much for no apparent reason rubs it in the face of the city of Seattle by saying "thanks for letting our shady owner make a deal with the asshole Starbucks guy to bring us your history laden team from a true basketball city."

I'm not hating on thunder fans, but the ones who do something like that are acting like assholes. And judging from a comment I saw about the store that makes them, the only ones who would wear it are pissed they don't live in a cool city like Seattle or are jealous of that city's reputation as a basketball hotbed in terms of local talent.

I'm slightly buzzed and have the house to myself tonight so if you still have questions I can go more in depth if you get back in the next 20 or so.

No idea what that means. An old close friend is marrying a girl who's from there so I'm biting the bullet and doing the nice thing of being a groomsman as per request.

I don't think anybody thinks the franchise did it, but when some of your own fans, who I'm sure are in the minority, pull a dick move like that it doesn't really help matters. You think people from anywhere outside of Oklahoma are going to see that and think, "haha, yea, fuck seattle!"

I'm sure it can be annoying but in this case y'all are just bringing it on yourselves.

Edit: god y'all are fucking stupid.

A death threat is a little extreme, but I'd probably give a hearty "fuck you" if I saw somebody wearing one of those, and I'm not even from Seattle nor were they my favorite team.

As a side note, for some godforsaken reason I have to be in okc in a couple weeks, I'll report back if I see anybody actually deuschy enough to wear one.

Why do you think it was that bad that year? Couldn't be because they knew their team was moving. And any team that isn't doing great after a long run of success is going to have a drop off. Think about how you'll feel when Durant and Westbrook leave after their prime.

I'm Not trying to say Oklahoma is a npbad basketball state, I'm just questioning if the turnout would be nearly as great if it didn't happen the way it did. Though I'm from neither area, and it's a given you'd have some bias.

There was crazy fan support when you were sub 500 because of the novelty of having a professional franchise, then luckily for the town and owners the team got good before the novelty could wear off so demand stayed high. Every team that moves to a new city starts off bad with good support because it's new and people want to check it out.

I have nothing against the people of okc, I have a couple friends from there actually. But even without having an nba team Seattle is a bigger basketball city than that place. The fans in Seattle were fucking die hard, it was known as one of the loudest arenas in the 90's. Also, there are probably more current nba players from that city now than your entire state has produced in its history.

There's no way the thunder would've been a success in terms of support unless they got lucky and did exactly what happened.

As much as it hurts me to say this, spurs fans have been fucking terrible recently. Although I will say if oklahoma didn't luck out by jacking a stacked young team it would be worse than Charlotte.

The spurs crowd used to be known as one of the most rabid fanbases in the country, unfortunatelty after a few rings complacency and jacked up ticket prices ruined that, among other things.

I was going to go on but I have work in 3 hours so shit. Last comment - this pic is obviously far before tip off and the fans have definitely been loud again recently, even without some gimmicky free t shirt bullshit give away that Seattle never had to resort to.

I'm a pretty big sports guy, but I hate fucking baseball unless I'm half drunk at the stadium during the game. I'm assuming you like golf and NASCAR too, which I'm sure are also fun if you're drinking at the event but are boring otherwise.

But yea strategy and stuff are so interesting since other sports clearly don't have that.

You'd be surprised how often a call will work. If nothing else you waste some time out of your life, but that's all we're doing on reddit anyways.

I mainly said that to fuck with you, I never had any problems with the guy, though he always seemed pretty annoying. But I didn't know him well so I'm probably being the dick with that statement.

Anyways, hope you got out of heights, that is the worst place I've ever been.

Why? I'm genuinely curious, I've had the same Belkin router for 3 years and 3 different cities and never had a problem.

I'm not hating at all, I actually thought the Clips would win this one because from recent memory (facts may prove me wrong) my Spurs usually blow game one after an extended rest period.

I went into this game thinking they'd blow this one then win the next four or maybe close in 6. Clippers play hard and are fun to watch but don't know how to win yet. Obviously there's that Memphis comeback, but as good as he is CP3 hasn't ever gone anywhere and Griffin can't do anything but dunk.
