IGN just gave Diablo 3 a 9.5, do you think this is a fair score? by VodkaMonsterin Diablo

Could I just remind people in this thread (and this subreddit in general) that downvoting opinions you don't agree with is not helpful, nor does it make them any more wrong or you any more right?

This is actually a great idea. I don't own a treadmill and I couldn't bring myself to do this in a gym, but you should share how you built this so that others may emulate if they have a treadmill as well.

These days, even a nice pair of jeans and a collared shirt will do. It's not really a formal affair, but people tend to dress leaning toward semi-casual (nobody's in a suit or anything).

Is Hardcore Inferno Play Actually Possible? by EvilDuckRawrin Diablo

[–]Halefire 0 points1 point ago

So you run down a corridor, and on the edge of the map appears an Elite that pulls you in (unavoidable), and then he and his three friends bash on you for 25% of your health each. You try to escape but they also brought along a dozen little goblins and assorted ranged mobs to block your way and pick at your health. That kind of situation is essentially an unavoidable death in Hell and Inferno--it's not about avoiding the situation, it's about not being able to avoid it at all because of the way view distance works

This certainly says something about our developing gaming culture. I wonder what the scene will look like in a few decades...

Don't think the Energy Armor build is bullshit? Here's a nice clip to illustrate it. by arkain123in Diablo

Exactly, man. Here we wizards are wondering why on earth people are making such a fuss...if it was half as broken as people think it is we'd be swimming in money and gear lol

Yeah, there really is no mindless way to do inferno, no simple tricks or dumb-man's methods, and that's exactly how it should be.

I can confirm that even with 1200+ health regen a second, you can only survive "4-5 hits" if you're engaging one, lonely mob.

Have you played any Wizard at all? Or are you bellyaching from zero end-game wizard experience like most of the other people?

You have no idea how much we wizards would LOVE to have some kind of broken build. It isn't broken, it actually essentially precludes us from ever engaging enemies that do things like Reflect Damage, among others. There is zero chance for us to survive.

This is exactly the issue. They picked literally the slowest-hitting mob in the entire game to demonstrate this.

What you're trying to show here is misleading. Belial's melee hits are extremely slow. Almost every single normal mob I can think of hits faster than him.

The only people I see seriously complaining about Force Armor are the people who will eventually admit to never having played Wizard to 54, when you actually get the skill. Even if they have, they probably haven't spent 500k-1 million gold on vitality-less gear, which is actually pretty rare. They are the ones who are under the impression that it makes the wizard invulnerable. It does not. It makes the wizard able to take a few hits now and then by sacrificing 20% of his Arcane Power. With zero added vitality, wizards still have about 4500 health, so Force Armor makes the maximum single hit they can take be around 1600.

Even with millions of gold worth of gear from the Auction House, which I doubt even the top 1% of all 60 players can afford, the highest combined +Health Regen that I've been able to theoretically put together is about +1200 a second. Add in Galvanizing Armor as a passive and you've got about +1450 per second, still less than the 1600+ you take per hit.

Tell me, where else in the game do you have the luxury of only getting hit once a second? If the Force Armor wizard lands in any DoTs he's fucked. If he gets wailed on by even a small number of mobs dealing a few hundred damage a hit, he's dead in seconds. Please actually try playing the class and not just complaining about the most extreme cases, i.e. the slowest hitting enemy in the entire damn game.

What the hell are you talking about?

The force armor wizard is a tank that can take a maximum of three hits every few seconds. Even with the best Regen items in the game (around +1000 health per second), they can't even take one hit a second.

You add a second mob and this build becomes almost useless. You add a DoT and it's useless.

Unless you've actually played 60 Wizard with this build, just cool it.

I understand now why Blizzard said it would take months to beat Inferno. by OneoftheChosenin Diablo

[–]Halefire 14 points15 points ago

This is exactly what I thought. People are finding clever ways of being efficient (without being broken, there are still plenty of ways a force armor wizard can die) and all of a sudden people are going on about doing things "legitimately". Suddenly the pedestals and the high horses come roaring in...

Wizards: is Force Armor working for you again? I just tested it and it appears unchanged. by Halefirein Diablo

There's another guy that just posted saying he tested it in Inferno Act II, but waiting for an official from a Blue would probably be best.

Not just Reflect or Fast, but anything that drops blobs of DoTs on the ground are hard as hell to deal with, because they usually deal low but extremely fast-ticking damage.

I use Incinerate as well, so sometimes I don't even notice when there's a fire DoT beneath me because the animations are so similar. Dead dead dead.

[–]Halefire[S] 2 points3 points ago

Who exactly have you been talking to? Or are you just making up verbal abuse to martyr yourself? Demon Hunter can go something like 12-15 seconds of full invulnerability with smoke screen and the right items/skills, and yet wizards get the hate?

Wizards Energy Armour - Force Armour rune has been broken? by tgunsc2in Diablo

[–]Halefire 0 points1 point ago

...what game are you playing? There's no "sorc" in D3.

And you clearly have never played Wizard with Force Armor. It does not allow you to be invulnerable, there seem to be plenty of people who misread the rune thinking it says you can't drop below 35% health. It actually just means you can't take 35% of your health in a single hit. If you get hit three times in rapid succession for 35% of your health, you're still dead. And it happens a lot.
