While in China I'm going with a study abroad group collecting samples for a genetic exchange of invasive plants project/study abroad. So we will be going tons of places but unfortunately will be doing almost all of our moving via cars, planes and trains. I'll probably be doing several 3-5 day hikes if I go backpacking Europe when I graduate next year. Still can't decide between that and hiking the PCT.

I may be a bit late to the game, but does anyone have recommendations for a pack for an 11 week trip traveling around china, which will include many flights and bus rides. I would prefer it have straps for a pad and tent as well (for different trips).
