TROPHY CASE

Am I the only one who has found myself rooting for older teams, in spite of team rivalries? by LittleTokein nba

[–]Go0n 0 points1 point ago

The Lakers were the only team that could match our success in the last decade. Kobe. Shaq. Zen Master. The Lakers were the team the world cheered for. Celebrities, Purple & Gold, Sportscenter. The Spurs have been in the shadow so long, they became THE shadow. The other team, the one that would quietly and methodically break your team into pieces and move on to the next one.

I don't think Lakers/Spurs was ever as intense of a playoff rivalry as Suns/Spurs or Lakers/Kings, but the Lakers and the Spurs compete on another level - rings. We're the two most dominant teams of a generation approaching its' end. Only so many chances to complete legacies.

It's time to even the score. Drive for five.

Watching the Mavs play the Lakers in the playoffs is just plain emotionally confusing.

I don't think so.

They made it here last year, and were denied by a Texas team playing on another level. If they win more than one game but still lose, I guess you could call that 'progress' but if you really want to call this season an improvement, you have to at least advance to the Finals.

Good.

If the Thunder defeat the Spurs

  • Go0n will change his flair to the Los Angeles Lakers until the beginning of the 2012/13 season.
  • Go0n will make a self post in /r/nba declaring the superiority of the Oklahoma City Riverwalk and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

If the Spurs defeat the Thunder

  • HansBriggs will change his flair to the Seattle Supersonics until the beginning of the 2012/13 season.
  • HansBriggs will make a self post in /r/nba declaring the superiority of the San Antonio riverwalk and the San Antonio Spurs.

Do you agree to this bet?

I think the most interesting games are going to be in OKC - we have a great road record and they have an amazing atmosphere. Gonna be intense.

I trust Pop to make the defensive adjustments needed, and I have faith in Kawahaie to at least slow down Durant. Look for Pop to rotate Green, Kawhi, and Ginobili.

Your the Lakers GM, how do you handle this off season? by BluntMastermindin nba

[–]Go0n 18 points19 points ago

I hire Stan Van Gundy as head coach. Secretly.

I trade Bynum for Dwight Howard. Secretly.

I then schedule a press conference, telling each of them they are going to be announced as a new member of the Lakers organization. I bring them in through seperate entrances, turn off all the lights in the room, and have them sit down next to each other.

Lights on, cameras rolling.
