i can see your point but the sheer amount of solar panels required would make it unfeasable with current technology, i have no doubt better ways will be found but currently nuclear plants are the most feasible way of producing the quantities required, personally i think so many problems like this would be solved with something like an international power grid, then solar power becomes the number one way of feeding it and the tech levels would sky rocket.
