Wouldn't physical labor keep you in shape, so that when you're older your body will have degraded less? Unless the labor has you doing stuff that's bad for your body. If anything, a job sitting at a desk all day would be more likely to give you the body of an 80 year old at 40.

I remember running in cross country meets that would have ribbon stringed along rebar sticking out of the ground to designate the track...I always would be afraid that I'd trip and end up on one of those. Guess it really can happen.

I disagree that having lived in NYC/Norway/London/somewhere in Texas I think? for a bit while you were younger counts as having lived in most of the "major" metropolitan areas of the world.

I dislike florescent lighting as well, and I didn't have to live in a trucker motel for a year (that sounds icky by the way).

In general the light is rather lifeless. I hope a light is developed in the near future that has the benefits of florescent lighting but the nice character of incandescent lighting / natural light.
