When DC Dems fail Wisconsin, you can step up. Write, donate, share. by bluecheddarin wisconsin

[–]FaramirofWI 2 points3 points ago

I have donated time and money. It is so frustrating to work so hard for this and get lukewarm support from the party. I'll keep working, but the Democratic party needs to wake up to reality.

In latest poll, Walker leads over Barrett 52% to 43% by sailawaysailin wisconsin

You'd almost think they wanted to get a certain result...

I'm sure the ones who are liberal keep it on the low-down.

Toby Keith? I can't believe that.

Scott Walker says he wants to "divide and conquer" Wisconsin - YouTube by FaramirofWIin wisconsin

It was specifically in reference to turning Wisconsin into a "red state" and a right to work state.

IF Tom Barret wins the new election, will he have a 2 year term or a 4 year tearm? by BadgerOnTheProwlin wisconsin

He will finish Walker's term, so 2-ish years.

Are these articles true? Wisconsin has a budget surplus now, thanks to Walker? by borno23in wisconsin

[–]FaramirofWI 6 points7 points ago

I would support districts being able to choose from competing insurance carriers. I would also support districts being able (not required) to have employees contribute to their benefits.

Some additional context would be nice. I'd like to see the rest of the video.

Edit - Apparently the video is from a documentary: http://vimeo.com/41579639

This is how I feel about the Governor Race. by mnpilotin wisconsin

[–]FaramirofWI 9 points10 points ago

It's easy to feel this way about politics and our two party system in general. However, Walker's policies over the past year have pretty clearly shown that in Wisconsin at least there is a vast difference between Democrats and Republicans. Barrett's not an ideal candidate (and neither were any of the Democrats running), but he's certainly going to have different policies than Walker.

The worst thing we can do is not vote. And voting in primaries is just as important as voting in general elections. If you want things to be different someday, you had better be voting in every election.

Are these articles true? Wisconsin has a budget surplus now, thanks to Walker? by borno23in wisconsin

[–]FaramirofWI 14 points15 points ago

Politicians use budget deficits (or surpluses) as a tool. With projections and different accounting practices they can make the budget look however they would like.

The Neenah story is undoubtedly true. But, it's not the same in every school district. My district stuck with WEA Trust for health insurance because they provided the lowest quote. Allowing districts to buy insurance from anyone is probably a good thing. Does it outweigh all the bad things about Act 10 (or all the other horrible policies of Walker)? Not by long shot.

Wisconsin Progressives Easily Outpoll Scott Walker as Recall Race Is Set by xylonin wisconsin

[–]FaramirofWI 3 points4 points ago

It's a bit of a stretch to call this group of Democrats Progressive. And if you want to make a prediction for the June 5th election based on that paltry advantage in the primary you are a fool.

Tom Barrett's new ad, "Worst." I like it. by QuesoBadgerin wisconsin

[–]FaramirofWI 4 points5 points ago

Walker has set himself up for this kind of ad. That said, I'm not really a fan of it. I do think Walker's policies have been bad for our economy and bad for job creation, but you can't heap all the blame for our job losses on Walker.

There are plenty of things to bash Walker over the head with, and I guess "jobs" is something that hits home with people, but it's not near the top of my list of things to get rid of him for.

Democrats had a higher turnout yesterday for the recall primary for governor. by kwasmosisin wisconsin

[–]FaramirofWI 11 points12 points ago

It was actually more than 900,000 signatures that were certified. Even 800,000 is a huge number and we didn't end up with the 50% fake claims from people like you, did we?

Democrats had a higher turnout yesterday for the recall primary for governor. by kwasmosisin wisconsin

[–]FaramirofWI 8 points9 points ago

I think you're right. And I think that those who support Walker are taking this seriously and turned out yesterday. When you put it all together the only conclusion you can draw is that the election in June is going to be very close.

Wisconsinite Redditors: RECALL ELECTION TOMORROW! VOTE! by podank99in politics

[–]FaramirofWI 10 points11 points ago

The law in Wisconsin has no requirement that an official be involved in any crime. The only requirement is that 25% of the electorate sign the recall petition during the 60 day period. This is one of the most restrictive recall laws in the nation, both the 25% and the length of the recall period.

Newest poll shows Walker and Barrett in a dead heat. by jmackenin wisconsin

[–]FaramirofWI 2 points3 points ago

Agreed. And I have to figure the winner of the primary will get a point or two boost once that is settled. This is going to be close, and I won't feel comfortable until it's all over, but this makes me feel a bit better.
