New trailer for "The Great Gatsby"

I was a fairly avid reader in high school and I remember genuinely despising The Great Gatsby. It's been a while, so I've almost completely forgotten most of the plot, but I remember thinking, "why do I care about this rich people and their problems?"

The more I hear about it, the more curious I am to revisit it. I get the sense that I missed a deeper meaning to the book, but I'm still skeptical I'll be able to tolerate the characters enough to enjoy it. I'd love to be convinced otherwise though.

So then a TL;DR would be, you resent these people for effectively marketing a product to their target audience and you wish that people would refrain from buying into things that interest them or might help brighten someone's day?

That's a whole lot of post for my off-hand joke and recognition of someone identifying something they're passionate about and having the follow through to bring it to its end. I don't really understand why people should be harangued for handing out internet points and recognition for people who actually create things that people might derive pleasure from.

I didn't mean to single you out, I was mostly using "you" in the general sense, sorry about that. I'm also not trying to defend people who use the handicap stall when there are others available, I'm specifically saying that I think it's acceptable to use the handicap stall on the rare occasion that all the other stalls are occupied.
