I read stories like these. Then I go to /r/gore and watch videos of people being murdered. I imagine those being beheaded were the ones responsible for neglecting these animals. Makes those videos almost fun to watch. Then I come back to /r/aww to unsee. It's a vicious cycle.

When I'm watching things of this nature I'm always amazed at how calm the victims are. When you're in that situation and know you're fucked do just accept your fate? I had these thoughts watching Diablo video. The last guy they killed wasn't even restrained. After watching the guy next to me get his head chopped off, I think I'd try to run. Maybe then they'd just shoot me instead of slowly butchering me. This is what intrigues me with these videos. The real reactions. Movies got it all wrong.

All good points. I brine the chicken as well. The flavor of the brine is determined by the sauce I plan to use. I use the leg quarters as opposed to thigh and leg so they cook about the same time as the breasts do. Gotta love the little charred grill marks from the sauce!

EDIT: I just, literally, finished making this BBQ sauce (ain't the internet great?!) And it tastes great. It's on the sweet side, the consistency is good. And as a starter recipe one could take it any number of directions if they so desired. I'm planning on letting it sit overnight and use it on some grilled chicken breast and leg quarters tomorrow.
