armor useless in this game? by zinx_1oin Diablo

[–]DivineWithin -1 points0 points ago

What are your resistances? Resistances are more important than Armor I believe when you're a melee in Inferno.

[Wizards] of Inferno, please share your builds by NymN_in Diablo3Strategy

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#bcXQOS!aXf!bcaYYZ

My skill build is built to kite mobs. I have ~ 40k HP and 20.6k DPS, but this can be used for lower DPS/HP than me, currently in the middle of Inferno Act II

The build revolves around the mindset of spending your AP as soon as possible and deal damage with your Primary until your AP is back up.

  • Piercing Orb is used for kiting.
  • Celestial Orb is used to spend your mana ASAP on mobs
  • Diamond Skin as a 'oh shit' button
  • Teleport is used for Elites with Wall/Jail, getting out of a sticky situation, or general aid for kiting
  • Energy Armor to prevent getting one shotted
  • Magic Weapon is used for general DPS aid

  • Blur for damage resist (helps a lot)

  • Astral Presence for improved AP regen + ability to use 3 Celestial Orbs

  • Galvanizing Ward for improved HP regen (although this can be changed to whatever you like)

1) Use 3 charges of Celestial Orb to deplete your AP bar, preferably at the beginning of the fight when they will be chasing you, use Diamond Skin/Teleport as needed

2) Hit once, run back (when your Piercing Orb attack is on cooldown)

3) Rinse and repeat

Pros:

  • Strong against normal mobs (no matter what speed they are, how tanky they are)
  • Strong with a party consisting of at least 1 Barb or Monk

Cons:

  • Weak against teleporting, mortar or shielding (invulurnable minions) Elites

[Leveling] Quick low-leveling strategies? by shining_in Diablo3Strategy

[–]DivineWithin 2 points3 points ago

Sockets on items actually appear at level 15. Socketed items don't appear until later on in the game (not sure when). But the AH sells socketed level 15 stuff for very cheap (I got mine around 1k a piece), and inserted the shit out of those sockets with good rubies =/

Any good HoN players willing to take me under their wing and help master this game? by Crazylou182in HeroesofNewerth

Even though I am not a mentor of Project Epoch any more, I still urge you to join this community. In there you can find all types of resources available for you to improve your game play, from in houses to libraries of guides to getting your own private mentor. My mentoring thread can be found here, and although I am not in E, I will still be continuing to help others get better for the sake of community.

Hey, I'm sorry you had to see me go, but I am really thankful you are now in a better learning environment and improving your game play. Yes, I am still continuing to teach players. I will never turn down anyone that comes to me for help, regardless if I am still affiliated with Project Epoch or not. I am dedicated to teaching people and it has been my passion since the start, I won't let something like this hinder my presence in bettering the community. My mentoring thread can be found here

First and foremost, I would like to address some of these accusations you made against me, and I thank you for the professionalism in the manner in which you addressed my post. I also appreciate you taking the time to look over the concerns I raised in this topic.

I would like to go over the allegation that I made no attempt to contact you or Visions. Here is the exact quote in question:

Unfortunately DivineWithin made no attempt to contact myself or Visions before posting this thread. Either of us would have been more than happy to clarify the clearly misunderstood situation.

If this was a misunderstood situation, is it in the standard protocol to remove all my priveledges in Epoch (including but not limited to, orange name color, mentor status, mentor section of forums)? Is it also standard protocol to ignore a mentor asking for clarification, immediately prior to his removal from the clan? Let me clarify.

RyanWenke contacted me and listened to a small part of my story before making an uninformed decision to Visions. Visions then, in what can be seen as an underhanded maneuver, deftly removed me from the clan and stripped me of my privileges. Ryan refused further contact with me on Skype about this situation, citing an obtuse reason as to why he can't give out his Skype information and Visions would not reply to any of my PMs or messages.

Secondly, I had no idea prior to your post here on Reddit, that my dismissal was a temporary or transient event. Until you explicitly said that mentors are sometimes removed temporarily; I was completely unaware that my removal from Epoch was still under dispute. This is testimony to how little effort the Epoch administration has made to contact me. The administration was quick to remove me from the clan and strip me of my titles; but cannot afford a quick minute to have a word with me about the situation in its entirety.

Furthermore, let me remind everyone reading this thread now that there was NO ATTEMPT to contact me in any way from the administration. I was the one who initiated any dialogue on mentoring with RyanWenke when I queried the stringent guidelines of the mentor portal. If I was flagged, I knew nothing about it, and nobody has approached me with these concerns, like you have said here:

When a mentor is flagged, we inform them that we are investigating the hours they have claimed, and ask them a few questions.

Finally, if there are any questions as to the integrity of my training schedules, one can always refer to my trainees for criticisms or statements. If the claims of my students are not enough to satiate your trepidations and fears that I am scamming Epoch for e-currency, then I have screenshots as evidence ready for your review. I have always provided screenshots of my Skype conversations in the "cycle" threads Yukari required during his time as an administrator of Epoch, and I'm more than happy to do so if you require.

You have stated that this investigation is still on-going. I have never heard from ANYONE about this matter. No officers or Administrators have bothered to let me know that Epoch is investigating this issue, and even if they were, it has been 2 days already since this incident happened, and not one of you have bothered to ask me for proof on my mentoring times, or update me on this status. Had I not raised awareness to this topic to Reddit at all, I highly doubt any one of you would message me regardless.

Not a lot, my friend. If getting paid to work in Epoch was real, it would realistically equate to being around $3/hourly wage. I won't disclose anything internally regarding how the system actually works for privacy sakes, but I can say this much at least!

For anyone curious, whether or not I get invited back to Epoch is entirely up to them. If they decide to invite me back in, this will hurt their reputation, and seeing that mentors are a renewable source, I highly doubt this possibility anyways.

I will be continuing to mentor anyone that asks for help still, with the same amount of effort put into this as I have put throughout my days in Epoch. The only difference now is that it will be more of a challenge finding players who are willing to accept me as their mentor.

Thanks, that means a lot to me. Before the Portal system kicked in, we had to record our own times via forums with screenshots of our Skype times if we used other methods to mentor. And if there was any doubt in our Skype times, the higher ups would question the trainees to prove the authenticity of the screenshot. Since the Portal system kicked in, this removed all sorts of mentoring options except the mentoring function in game. This is what I was arguing to Ryan, and he misunderstood what I said completely, which ultimately lead to my downfall. Again, I thank you for expressing your opinion and your compliment!

I just have a strong feeling that Ryan gave his one sided story to Visions, and it was he who purged my permissions completely. People have said Ryan is a nice guy and does great things to the community, but the face people show to society is worth nothing compared to what really happens on the inside.

Hey man, I have seen you around during the old days when Epoch was still young. Whatever you have said I completely agree, anything the people do for the greater good of the community gets absolutely backstabbed and kicked off by the power hungry people controlling this system. The officers now were nothing compared to the officers we once knew, and same goes for the admins.

Truth. I also must say, that Drew is the last trainee I have mentored before being removed a couple hours after later that night.

You are right, the leader of Epoch has the power to remove anyone he wants for whatever reason. This is not "work". This is a volunteer service that I am providing for them to keep this clan running. Keep in mind that there is no such rule where, if you leave Epoch on hiatus for whatever reason for however long, you will not be removed if you are able to explain and prove that your reason for absence is liable. In this case, I had finals for the entire month of April, hence my absence.

I am not crying to Reddit, I am simply shedding some light and trying to gain some publicity on how Epoch (or rather, how S2) really works internally, since both S2 forums and E forums will automatically hide this sort of information in order to maintain whatever reputation they still have.

Nothing is left out. This is how they work, this is how they do things. We, as mentors are a renewable source, they can come and grab as many as they want in a day. As soon as someone assumes something and contacts the higher ups, the rest follow like sheep and the rest is history.
