TROPHY CASE

Phil Ivey files lawsuit against Tiltware to get funds back to players by kukukelein poker

He's suing them for breach of contract. If he shows that they violated his 2004 contract, it invalidates the non-compete clause in it. That's what he cares about. He's saying a lot of stuff about returning player funds, but that's just PR. It's not bullshit, as I believe he truly is upset about how FTP is handling the situation, and I believe that he had no part in their shady business operations.

But the meat of the lawsuit is that he wants to sign with another poker site and Full Tilt won't let him due to the non-compete.

There's also the fact that if you make the "personal choice" to not wear your seatbelt, and you crack your head open, you will probably use taxpayer money for your immediate and/or long term care. A lifetime of disability payments is expensive.

Seriously. Technically, it's his step-granddaughter, but she was raised by him which makes it Woody Allen level creepy. If Morgan Freeman wanted to divorce his wife and hook up with a 27 year old, that's a bit gross but understandable. The fact that he's been boning her since she was 17 is pretty bad.

Lots of people, including Liberals like Denis Kucinich and Bernie Sanders, want to roll back the bad stuff, which has largely happened in the past 10 years. The Pauls and their Libertarian cohorts want to roll back things like civil rights, environmental protections, job safety, food safety, and many other hard won victories since the Civil War. That makes them the fringe.

From Walmart's executive page

The guy in your link-

Michael T. Duke
President and Chief Executive Officer, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.

The guy in the OP-

C. Douglas McMillon
President and CEO, Walmart International

I don't know how their corporate structure works, or who can fire who. They also have separate CEOs for each region and one for Sam's Club.

EDIT- According to other posts, Mike Duke is the real head honcho.

No. People who propose rolling back 130 years of progress this country has made have fringe views.

What a brilliant argument. I have a question, though. I'm planning on annexing some land later this afternoon and oppressing the shit out of the inhabitants. How long exactly do I have to maintain control of that land before my oppression becomes "history" and you'll support my claim to legitimate ownership?

I, and a lot of people on reddit, want a truly Liberal political party to represent them. A lot of people here advocate support the Green party or others. I think that if everyone who reads this site voted in the Democratic primaries every time, we could move the party to the left. There are a lot of tactical advantages to doing that over supporting a third party.

I generally agree with your post, but-

You have to ask yourself why any particular group is the "most reliable"

Because unlike most of the civilized world, the US votes on a work day. That gives a huge turnout advantage to the retired and unemployed. Hourly workers essentially have to pay to vote.

Nevada actually has a fantastic early voting system, and fantastic voting system in general (electronic machines with full paper auditing). If every state copied it, we'd be a lot better off.
