If you are a hacker or tester, getting the applicable cert is beneficial and useful, IF YOU ARE DOING THAT JOB PROFESSIONALLY. If you are not hacking or doing pen tests, and have no plans on moving into a job that does it, then don't get it. If you are, and you want to stand out a bit, or don't have an extensive CV of experience, they are worth getting.

If defense and uptime are a priority, I'd look at Radware. Also, they are one of the best at handling volumetric DDOS attacks. Aside from them,. F5 and Cisco make good products.

TL;DR HTC add/updated a logging utility called HTCLogger.apk on most of their modern Sense based devices. It was designed to log lots of stuff and they allowed other apps to view the logs. Bad idea on HTC, yes. Android Vulnerability, NO.
