Oh, there's a place in his heart for all footwear. He's a befuddled and forgetful soul but he'll find the shoe he knows you want, he only just left it here the other day...

I'm imagining an alot that runs a shoestore. Just great big bundles of shoes everywhere. The alot has the same knack for finding your perfect shoe that Olivander had for wands.

I don't think it rains that much at all, and I live in Glasgow. Sure it is always overcast and you can't plan a barbecue more than a few days ahead.

But the vast majority of the time that I step out of my house and walk to the shops or to work, it isn't raining, there's still plenty you can do outside without the sun.

Hand Holding by corvuskoraxin funny

I'm gay. When I was about 20, a "while ago" now (read years), I was walking through Newcastle, just outside the Bigg Market and saw two young guys, younger than me, walking towards me holding hands. I stared at their hands the entire time they walked towards me. When I looked up at the last minute they were both staring at me as they walked past with looks of semi-indignation/fear/defiance.

I still can't find the courage to show affection in public. Sometimes it's just jealousy that people stare!

I'm not saying that it's ok, and I'm not in any way enabling hatred against gays. I just wanted to point out that its a bit of a shock for all of society to see gay affection in public. Not just the straight bit.

It's not so much a quiz you fail or pass, if you had a problem these questions would likely pose a problem for you, or at least answering them honestly would.

To be honest it sounds on the surface like you have no real problem with alcohol, though I don't know why you would drink everyday?

Anyway, yes. In answer to your ultimate question, alcohol makes you fat, it is empty calories. Drink less, eat better, exercise more.

edit: I'm rereading your answers and I'm so stupid.

Do you drink earlier sometimes?

on the weekends I do since im not at work

Yeah, it sounds like you have problem. Everyday and to excess when the hangover can't be caught? How often do you make excuses not to meet in the mornings on your days off because of it?

Parents of Reddit with a homosexual child/children, what was your initial reaction upon their coming out? by mediaG33Kin AskReddit

Eddie Izzard isn't camp. He wears women's clothes, yes, but doesn't act camp.

If you think of the stereotypical gay guy; limp wrists, very excitable, loud, everything is "fabulous darling", that is camp. It is the way you act, the pose and manner you adopt in your every action.

Simply wearing women's clothes doesn't make you camp, but it is associated with it for most people because in comedy, especially in older British comedies, dressing a man in women's clothes and having him act camp was just hilarious. Or so many think.

I'm sure some will disagree and say just cross-dressing is camp but Eddie is actually a transvestite. His mannerisms are just as they would be in men's clothing.

Well done for taking the hint from your boy in your stride and recognising things as they stand. He did it because he loves you as you obviously know.

If you have any questions about using reddit, just ask and we'll be happy to tell you.

Do you know, I've just realised I haven't read Player of Games. It wasn't on my bookshelf and when I read a synopsis I realised I had never read it. How did I miss that?

I guess I have to say Use of Weapons then!

I'm a fan of Banks but I think you are right, it takes a while for him to develop a character very fully, or to the point you empathise with them. The parts of Scifi books I tend to like best are the exploration of the universe and the concepts and ideas that define that universe anyway.

So in the likely event that they didn't give the models' bum a skelp, they all had rouge applied to their butts...

Is that weirder for the make-up artist or the model?

Have you noticed they are just tiling directly over the old tiles. I was hoping I could raid a skip and get some of those amazing livid orange ones.

Next time they do it up there'll be a big to do about "discovering" the hidden tiles underneath.

There was a kids TV show in the UK where a girl could get wishes granted by rubbing the nose of the queen on a fifty pence piece, it was called The Queens nose.

Maybe giving those shoulders a good feel will be lucky for you.

An AND/OR logic gate?

If "morrow" and "tomorrow" have the same meaning, why was "to" added to "morrow" in the first place? by Konrad4thin linguistics

[–]CptHaddock 1 point2 points ago

I am taking a complete guess here, but in Glasgow people say, "The morrow," or "the night," to mean tomorrow and tonight. So someone might say, "What are you doing the morrow?"

I had always assumed it was a contraction of the that took hold everywhere else and for whatever reason never did around here. That is probably a shortening itself from, "On the morrow," but like I say this is a theory I just came up with without justification.

In case you are unaware, Goscinny, who wrote the originals, died in '77. The newer ones were written by Uderzo, who has always been the artist. That's why the writing went downhill.
