Are there any birds that prey on other birds on a regular basis? by flatcokein AskReddit

[–]ChemDogCory 1 point2 points ago

From what I've seen, a lot of falcons/hawks, in the city, would just as soon go after a pigeon as they would a squirrel.

Talkative, socially confident people of reddit - what's your secret?? by bravoredditbravoin AskReddit

[–]ChemDogCory 0 points1 point ago

It's been said, but "not giving a fuck" is my secret. I'm a high school teacher though, so I had to train myself to not give a fuck about what 90% of the people I deal with each day think. I wouldn't have survived the first year if I got hung up on what high school kids thought of me.

NINETY-NINE PERCENT OF THE TIME, "I'm not interested in a relationship" actually means "I'm not interested in a relationship with you." What are some other common phrases that almost always mean something else? by thezizin AskReddit

[–]ChemDogCory 1 point2 points ago

Maybe I should do that with my high school kids instead of staring at them like what they said is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

I absolutely HATE when people say "I'm XX years young!" What's something that irritates you way more than it should? by AskMeAboutMyScrotumin AskReddit

Quick question about primers! by PriestmanXin Warhammer

[–]ChemDogCory 0 points1 point ago

There is nothing wrong with starting with the cheap stuff. But at some point as your painting skills progress you'll want to upgrade to an actual high quality primer.

Personally I like the Testor's brand primer that you can get at Hobby Lobby. It's definitely not $0.97 but you'll notice the difference in quality.

What's something about yourself that you never knew until someone else pointed it out to you? by X_halein AskReddit

[–]ChemDogCory 0 points1 point ago

Half-way through my second year of teaching my students pointed out I talk with my hands a lot when I lecture.

They pointed it out by talking with their hands, in the same manner that I do, when they asked me questions.

Completely agree. She is great for what you pay for her. I mean, she can come back to life after she's killed and she isn't too shabby in CC.

I just resigned from my soul sucking job so that I can get my life back on track. I feel like a huge weight just got lifted and am finally excited about my future. How's your Friday coming along Reddit? by sherriffin AskReddit

I'm painting my house so I can put it on the market, since I can no longer afford it, after my soul-sucking wife left me last year.

Ladies and gentlemen, what's the strangest compliment you've ever gotten from a member of the opposite sex? by hongryghostin AskReddit

[–]ChemDogCory 3 points4 points ago

Two things, both from former students:

"You have very expressive eyebrows."

And whenever i wear this certain blue shirt and old student tells me, "You look like a blueberry."

.....I am not blueberry shaped for the record.

Yeah I get that one a lot too. Along with accusations and disbelief that I don't have to pluck my eyebrows.

I'm a chemistry teacher and I'm moving at the end of this year. One of my students got this as a "Going Away" present for me. by ChemDogCoryin funny

Get a PhD and avoid teaching high school if you can help it. I am always amazed at the end of the day that I don't have blood on my hands.

Who said I don't? Don't get me wrong, I hope that wasn't the "hidden" message from him. But still, you shouldn't assume.

Always wear safety goggles when you do a demo, regardless of how confident you are that you won't blow yourself up.
