I have 24 cats.. What are some things you probably should have mentioned on your first date Reddit? by KuddleyKittenin AskReddit

[–]Callix 1 point2 points ago

I'm not monogamous- and that's not changing. If I can't cause you pain during sex, it's not really fun. Also in my house we have two dogs, one's 120lbs, the other is 5. You MUST like them both, or it's a dealbreaker.

Just trying to figure out what my next step should be by Callixin Anxiety

[–]Callix[S] 0 points1 point ago

I'm pretty okay at suppressing my panic attacks for about an hour or so until I can get to a private place. But as far as just dealing with them.... I can't control my heart racing, my chest hurting, sweating profusely, hyperventilating... etc. I'm just a bit confused as to how understanding that the feelings are destructive and not helpful is going to stop that.

[–]Callix[S] 0 points1 point ago

My problem with traditional therapy is that they're always trying to deal with my "past problems". Really, that's not it. I think about things maybe once a year in passing. My panic attacks are at least 3x a week. It makes it really hard for me to think they're at all related, since that's not what I'm panicking about.

And again, it's about $200 a month.

The other problem, is that my step-mother is some super head psychologist in my city, and finding one who's "decent" and DOESN'T know her is nearly impossible (which is how I ended up with my first one). And HIPPA is crap, I work in the medical field.

Experiences with xanax? by bluefeeshin Anxiety

[–]Callix 0 points1 point ago

I take Xanax regularly, as do two of my best friends. I have mainly social-related anxiety with minimal general, the two of them are more generalized. So here's our reactions: 1) All three of us need to take 2 at at time to feel anything (of the lowest dose-.25mg) 2) The two of them say it works within 10-15 mins. Personally, it takes at least 45min-1 hour to work for me. I can only take it as a preventative usually, when I know I'm going to something with triggers. 3) The side effects vary. My female friend says that it makes her feel drowsy and loopy sometimes, but my other friend and I have never experienced this. Also, I took SIX pills tonight for a really bad attack that refused to go away after 5 hours, and I'd feel 100% comfortable driving, (so any potential side effects aren't gong to appear with a higher dosage, in my experience). I still in no way feel like a zombie.

did anyone catch the eclipse tonight? I remembered at 8:00, but the sun was already behind the treeline... by GratefulTonyin twincitiessocial

Saw it on accident, was in the passenger seat of a car as we drove around the lake. I had no problem looking directly at it for a few seconds at a time.

I have genital herpes (HSV-1), and my partner has oral herpes (HSV-1). Could I give him another HSV-1 infection on his genitals if he already has oral herpes? by bonkstonksin STD

[–]Callix 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, my doctor told me that condoms would prevent the spread of herpes. Another told me that my type-1 diabetic friend shouldn't be eating sugar. Please research things yourself as well ask asking doctors.

[–]Callix 0 points1 point ago

"A prior infection with oral HSV-1 lowers the risk of acquiring genital HSV-1 even further. Studies show that genital HSV-1 infections almost always occur in people who have no prior infection with HSV of either type (Corey, Annals of Internal Medicine, 1983)." -http://www.herpes.com/hsv1-2.html

You can, but the chances are greatly reduced, (further than they were already, which was already pretty low. Him being male, you having hsv-1 instead of 2, taking medication, and using condoms makes the transmission.... minuscule). Worth the risk, IMO.

Advice on relocating by alex30179in twincitiessocial

[–]Callix 1 point2 points ago

If you want to live in a suburb you should at least have one car to share. It'll take you the better part of an hour to get anywhere by bus. A close-by suburb would be my reccomendation, like st louis park or edina, richfield. North of the cities is generally cheaper living, like columbia heights.

I'm Russian too, and I agree with this entire post. However, my family likes to get catering from Russian families, or imported packaged food, both of which are easy to come by.

MinKY is NOT a sex club. While allowed, it hardly ever occurs.

Would any employers really care if I go to Metro State over the U? by bazhipin twincitiessocial

Not exactly your field (although we do have an IT dept?), but the doctor's office I work at wouldn't really give a crap. It's all about the interview.

Fineee. My father is a partner in the company, there's 0% chance I'll get fired. So that aside, I just wanted to double check, since there seems to be gray areas, such as:

Marital Status & Children Under federal anti-discrimination laws, as well as the laws of many states, it's illegal for an employer to ask before you're hired if you're married or planning to get married. It's also illegal to ask if you have children, plan to have children, or if you've made child-care arrangements. However, questions regarding your availability to work specific hours and to travel on business are allowed. Also, after you're hired, your employer can ask about your marital status and family for insurance purposes. http://labor-employment-law.lawyers.com/Job-Hunting/Job-Interviewing.html (not the best source, I admit)

or: http://www.eeoc.gov/policy/docs/caregiving.html Which implies it might fall under sexism laws.

If nothing else though, I want to be able to tell my boss to never do this again, because if my friend doesn't sue, someone else might.

With my promotion she's no longer my boss, I don't fear getting fired. Also she told my friend the same reason for not hiring her, it's not like I ratted anyone out.
