Check out Guacamole and other HTML5 remote desktop systems. You can make something similar and add your own group-join system and active client reporting.

Even With Health Insurance, Cuts Hurt - Over 1 in 5 Americans had a problem getting insurance to pay for a hospital, doctor or other health care in the past year, according to a new poll by NPR, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, & the Harvard School of Public Health. by anutensilin Health

[–]Buckwheat469 0 points1 point ago

Here's a short list of problems:

  • You must be in a group plan to get the better benefits. Single-payer plans don't offer equal benefits even if you offer to pay the difference.
  • Insurance companies will refuse to pay out to doctors even if they are required to because of some computer entry error that couldn't be resolved without patient intervention, no matter how minor. They won't even call the patient, they wait until the patient gets the bill for many thousands of dollars.
  • Doctors don't get paid in time. They have to get paid for the lag so they bump their prices up, sometimes 5x the reasonable rate, just to get a better payment from the insurance.
  • Patients cannot pay the doctors a reduced rate out of pocket (in most cases).
  • Insurance will bargain with the doctor to get a reasonable rate, which wastes time.

These problems are not exclusive and can compound on each other.

3 cheers to quitting a job that made my life absolute hell for 3 years, going to burn these later. by jerpsonderpsonin pic

Good for you! Sticking with a job you despise for 25 years. That'll show them. Joking aside, CPS is a good service to have and I respect you for doing that job. Even if you didn't like it, your efforts, either directly or indirectly, helped a lot of kids.

I hope not. Lakewood Washington has a nice one with motorized recliner couches. Not like the shitty Regal rocking chairs. These guys are pleather, red, and comfortable. They even have arms the fold up so you can snuggle with your honey. The arms are a full foot wide so you don't have to touch your neighbor when you share.

Whomever stocks the tea at work... by mattchewie01in funny

[–]Buckwheat469 0 points1 point ago

If you can replace the who/whom part with "him" then use "whom", otherwise if "he" or "she" sounds better then use "who".

"He stocks the tea at work..." (who)

"Him stocks the tea at work..." (whom)

Who is the correct choice.

Traceroute on incoming and outgoing IP connections with a reverse DNS lookup to determine if the DNS name contains any sort of state/country information, then a geoIP lookup for a broader location.

There would need to be some lag, or a filter for persistent and repeated connections to the same peer. You can't have the system perform a lookup every time an IP connected for a millisecond.

[SMT] A program that delays the mouse for a few milliseconds as you reach the edge of your screen (for dual monitors) by areoin SomebodyMakeThis

[–]Buckwheat469 3 points4 points ago

Ubuntu 12.04 does this now. They added Dash to both screens which causes the mouse to "stick" to the middle if you don't move it fast enough. It's almost as if you need to ramp up the speed to break through some invisible barrier.

Just cut the broken USB part off, leaving a good length of cable on each end so you can identify the cable colors and positions, then cut a good USB cable and splice it to the connector's wires. Solder and tape as desired.

Health care costs for a family of four covered by a preferred provider plan rises to $20,728 per year in 2012, an increase of 6.9% over 2011 and up almost 70% in 2005. by MR_Rictusin Economics

Don't forget, if you're not in a group plan provided by your workplace then Diabetic supplies are counted as Tier 2 generics which give you 50% prescription coverage, rather than the group plan benefit of $15 or $25 copay.
