Certain contracts are void if the signing party claims (and can prove) intoxication to point the point of misguided decisions. If the artist could prove this to be within artistic interpretation though, oh well!

I was in eight grade in 2002. At that time, we took a whole week off of ALL of our classes to discuss the cultural significance of that time. The highlight? Protestors and their role in ending the war.

Mind you, I went to a hippy liberal school where you didn't have to wear shoes, there were no bells and gym class was called "wellness". So, this may not have been a typical experience.

My Dad's dad worked for a trucking company for 40 years. Their mascot/logo was 2 penguins as they were refrigerated trucks. For a 40 year bonus, they gave him 2 penguins (symbolic I suppose).

My grandmother knew about this before the big unveiling-and arranged for them to be donated to the Rochester Zoo. However, there were a few days lay-over before they took the penguins-so they lived in the bathtub for about 48 hours.

As far as I can guess, they were bought from one zoo or special rehabilitation center and brought to Rochester. My dad says they were taken in the freezer truck-but I don't quite know how legitimate that part of the story is. Best bet is to find a place like a rehabilitation center. Closest one in New England with penguins is here

tldr; Dad had penguins...NO IDEA how they got there...

Its not news that the red cross sells the blood it collects. The money then goes to efforts like helping victims of hurricane Katrina, for instance. Also, regardless of whomever buys the blood (typically hospitals), it is still saving someones life.

I agree, be informed about what exactly you are donating and to who! However, my choice is still to donate after learning.

Drink Orange Juice before hand, and no coffee! I hear it knocks down your iron level and will dehydrate you. You do NOT want to be dhydrated after, makes you feel woozy.

All in all though, I've donated tons of times. It is a great time waster and helps people out. You should definitely go for it!

Make sure to get an extra set of keys to leave with a (very) trusted friend or family member.

Also, tissues and a cutting board. Both are things we had to run out and buy when my roommates and I moved in.
