I bet it feels awesome when you can clear the trees though!

I think instead of typing daunting you should type extreme fun times.

Fixed.

Visiting Minneapolis, what should I play? by TomorrowsGone85in discgolf

I can vouch for Kaposia. Incredibly difficult, never gets old, beautiful holes and secluded deep in bluffs and forests. My favorite course.

Sometimes you just need to disc down by r1y1a2n2in discgolf

Me too. I'll use my teebird for long drives, two buzzz's with different weights, roc, Aviar, and Ion for approaches. That's all I need.

Your Top 10 Games of All Time and Why? by ScribeDin truegaming

[–]Boarder22345 1 point2 points ago

  1. Shadow of the Colossus- gorgeous and unforgettable, a completely unique experience
  2. SSX: Tricky- easy to pick up and play, infinitely re-playable, just fun.
  3. Battlefield: Bad Company 2- An amazingly polished title that is the most off the wall fun you can have in battlefield. I sank about 700 hours into it strapping c4 onto a building and running away to kill a rat's nest full of enemy players. It was optimized on consoles and it shows. I prefer the graphics to BF3 any day, especially on consoles.
  4. Deus Ex- incredible experience, so many options and routes to take.
  5. Oddworld: Abe's Exodus- great platforming in an evil and bizarre world. Very few games have this level of intelligence put into them.
  6. Left 4 Dead- When the matches are fair in versus, when there are no rage quitters...its the best cooperative game on the market.
  7. Fallout 3- had no preconceptions or understanding of fallout before playing this. By the time I was done I had 8 characters at lvl 30 or more and wanted more. This was satiated by some of the greatest dlc I've had the pleasure of purchasing, esp. point lookout.
  8. Minecraft- I always find myself coming back to it, greeting it like an old friend. And with updates its constantly changing for the better and now with split-screen on xbox...I'll be playing this with my girl for a long time to come.
  9. Half-Life- A true classic that you can still play and enjoy just as much as any AAA title today.
  10. Psychonauts- Hilarious, full of great characters, and game play that required you to think out of the box as opposed to smashing everything in your way (unless of course you find yourself bigger than skyscrapers, in that case smash away). The best 3d platformer ever made.

I just started throwing a Roc and I think I like it more than my drone. Both are nice and predictable.

Yes, my girlfriend and I can play split screen co-op without having to be in separate rooms/houses/whatever. Minecraft is a communal experience and being able to play together is great.

How far do you "really" throw? by TylerrelyTin discgolf

By watching how my disc flies in the air. If the disc has a smooth, flat release the hyzer will also be smooth and flat in the air, maximizing distance and control.

A flat release with the right arm speed will send the buzz flying forever.

I always recommend "discing down" to improve your form. I've put all my discs that are above a 9 speed away and mostly use my TI buzz and its made my scores drop considerably. It really works, it forces you to focus on form rather than distance. You will discover its better to use your mid-range on a 300-350' ft throw and have a ton of control with it than trying your hardest to rip a wraith/destroyer/boss which lacks control and doesn't point out the flaws in your throws as easily. Confidence soon follows.

Do not throw it too hard and make sure you keep it level across your body till release.

I still hated the blizzard boss though, traded a TI buzz for mine yesterday and couldn't be happier.

Regarding final battles/boss fights by aco620in truegaming

When it comes to fitting endings I believe Halo 3 did a great job ending on explosions, fast driving and shooting. It felt epic and was not a boss fight.

Why do so many rpgs use a fantasy setting? by Boarder22345in truegaming

[–]Boarder22345[S] 5 points6 points ago*

I was playing The Witcher 2 and I just couldn't get over how similar it was to so many other rpg's I have played. The setting and the way the dialogue plays out just didn't draw me in because it all felt so eerily similar to all the other fantasy rpg's.

Is fantasy the best setting for something like an rpg? Or lazy development? Dead Island was a fresh of breath air, it was a unique setting. If the rpg elements were stronger it would have been better received. Fallout was similar in originality. I feel we need to get some more originality in the genre to get me excited about playing them again.

Problems driving... by theeagle1in discgolf

[–]Boarder22345 1 point2 points ago

Also with the pull back: keep that arm fairly loose and don't try to rip it as hard as you can. You are looking for control first, distance second. I have found my drives go 50 ft further when I relax my arm at the 'extending" part of the throw and then bring the power out toward the end of the throw. You are looking for the path of least resistance and trying too rip it to hard not only limits your distance but will land you in the woods more often than not.

Why do so many team based games discourage working with your team? by Narrative_Causalityin truegaming

[–]Boarder22345 2 points3 points ago

A lot of talk about TF2 but I think Left 4 Dead is a great example or co-op working to its fullest potential...you can't play without some form of teamwork, impossible to lone wolf.

Stats are largely useless, telling you things like longest smoker pull and most damage done by charger, etc. And no stats get calculated (on consoles at least) so its people who enjoy the game for the game and not some arbitrary reward system.
