Final Destination IRL???

Just picked up these bad boys over at MyVaporStore by rplushin electronic_cigarette

[–]Bamrz 0 points1 point ago

Ouch. I picked one up on sale from Tropical Vapors last month for $39.00, nothing included, just the mod. Oh, and free shipping. They call theirs the L-rider, but the mod itself is just plain black, no logo. Right now they have the full size and mini available, either priced at $45.

Shoei helmet, Redwing boots, leather jacket (no armor), chaps when it's cold or for road trips, either gauntlet or fingerless gloves, depending on the weather.

Comfortable seats for long rides. by rawrimazombiein cruisers

If it's your lower back that hurts and not your butt, it may not be just your seat that's a problem. If you're leaning forward instead of sitting upright, try adjusting your handlebars back a little.

Why the downvotes for anything cruiser related? by jayelwinin motorcycles

[–]Bamrz 8 points9 points ago

I have to admit I am tired of all the "look at my new bike" posts. I know what motorcycles look like. I'm more interested in others' experiences, reading about various kinds of bikes, and so on. I may never ride a particular model of motorcycle, but I'm still interested in articles about them -- not just "I bought this bike, look at my picture of it!"

Thank you! I'd much rather see a pic along with a write-up of where you've ridden (or plan to ride), or mods you've made, or whatever.

I know people are very proud of their rides. But to me, the only time a pic should be posted by itself is for something unique, like an awesome custom paint job or custom bike you've stumbled across in your travels.

[HELP] I want to keep riding, but... by Mogrixin motorcycles

[–]Bamrz 3 points4 points ago

Being female and riding a cruiser, it was difficult at first for me to find decent riding buddies. I found a couple forums online, one specific to my model of bike, and a couple others just for women. From there, with lots of reading, I've been lucky to find some very nice people to hang out with!

Try Southern Cruisers, there are groups of them all over the place. They have male and female members, so I don't think they'd be heading to strip clubs and such.

Good luck, and ride safe!

Same here, all I use are AW IMR's. My mechanical and VV mods all work well with them.

My opinion on "Safety" by [deleted]in motorcycles

[–]Bamrz 4 points5 points ago

but lately I've been wondering... mostly about why drivers are so terrible at driving.

Because they're doing too many other things instead of paying attention to their driving.

The USPS is an unmatched bargain, a civic treasure, a genuine public good that links all people and communities into one nation. So, naturally, it must be destroyed. by wang-bangerin politics

We haven't been government employees since 1971.

source

Until 1971, mail delivery was handled by the Post Office Department, a Cabinet department in the federal government. Postal worker strikes prompted President Nixon to pass the Postal Reorganization Act in 1971, transforming it into the semi-independent agency we now know as the United States Postal Service. The USPS in its current form runs like a business, relies on postage for revenue and, for the most part, has not used taxpayer money since 1982, when postage stamps became “products” instead of forms of taxation. Taxpayer money is only used in some cases to pay for mailing voter materials to disabled and overseas Americans.

  1. On a private dirt road heading towards our cabin, my left side cover fell off and I thought I could just reach down and grab it. Nope. No damage, just dusty saddlebags.

  2. I'd just put on some spiffy fringe on my clutch and brake handles, and took my bike around the block to see if they were too long or not. Pulled back into the driveway, using the front brake to slow down, not realizing the end of the fringe was too thick and preventing the brake handle from engaging the front brake, dropped bike against my car. Broke one of the rear turn signals, put a small dent in the car.

  3. Following a detour on an unfamiliar road, I came to a stop sign. Since I was turning right, I was looking left as I stopped instead of checking where I was putting my right foot. It went right into a pot hole, the bike went down on top of me, and ended up with the seat lower than the tires off the edge of the pavement. Luckily there was a lady in a pickup behind me that got out and helped me pick up the bike. No damage, just learned to pay more attention to where I put my feet.

At low speeds, you do turn the handlebars. At regular riding speed, you countersteer.

My favorite:

A successful gynecologist decides to fulfill his life's dream: give up medical practice and become a motorcycle mechanic. So he gets out of the medical business and enrolls at a mechanic's seminar with Harley Davidson. After many weeks of training comes the final examination, taking apart and then re-assembling a randomly chosen Harley engine. He grabs his tools and sets to work, but soon he gets worried: while he is still working on the valve-covers, everybody else is already busy with removing the cylinder heads. He falls more and more behind, and as he is just starting to put it all back together, everybody else is already finished. He manages to put the engine back together, barely in time before the exam ends. Because it took him so much longer than everybody else, he goes straight to the teacher to ask how he performed. "Well," the teacher says, "out of one hundred possible points you scored 150." "But how is that possible?" the ex-gynecologist asks. "Well, it breaks down to this: You get fifty points for correctly taking the engine apart. And you get another fifty points for putting it back together perfectly." "And what did I get those additional fifty points for?" "For doing it all through the exhaust."

My ex went through all the motions with the attorneys and all for visitation. I can't remember what we settled on now, something like one weekend a month and a week during the summer, alternating Xmas holidays. He actually had them once, for a weekend, and brought them home early.

So just realize that sometimes their bark is worse than their bite.

Oh, and he was in another state, about a 5 hour drive away. Support and all that would be decided by the laws of your state, if you are the one to initiate the action.
