The right way to use a door stop

Locksmith here. How many ways can I say "wrong"?

1) Short people can't reach the top of the door and remove it. While they might be able to open the door further and dislodge it, this is not going to happen if it becomes wedged in by an attempted door closure, or if the door is already at its max-open angle.

2) The pressure from the door closer will bend the hinges a little. This makes the door close unevenly and possibly mis-align, resulting in a door that does not latch closed.

3) People will try to close the door and will most definitely bend the hinge, or even damage the armature on the door closer.

This is a very bad idea, and is most definitely NOT the way to use a door stop...unless you have the hots for the locksmith who will have to come in and work on your door to get it working properly again.

That's the grounding connection. It's not live...it just connects to the earth. Seriously. Just pull the thing out with some pliers. As long as you're not sticking something in the bladed slots, it's no big deal.

I'd probably start with something humorous, then immediately roll into a statement that says "I'm not going to talk about it."

e.g.

"Tried to bitch-slap Chuck Norris. Long story. Some other time."

or

"Busload of nuns. Had to be done. Long story. Some other time."

Since I live in Arizona, it means I'll be on the same time as my sister in California instead of my brother in Colorado.
