The best Hip-hop songs are like Poetry. What are your examples? by scammingladdyin hiphopheads

Cannibal Ox's The F Word

Vast Aire's second verse specifically:

check this situation, I wore my lust like cologne

she called it Obsession

the background's black and white and we adolescents

like what the fuck we know about love?

the more I learn it's like the Clash of the Titans

all I wanna do is avoid fightin'

a little arguing's okay but not everyday

and if we can't communicate what we got decays

until the smell gets more pungent

to the point where we can't be seen in public

body parts fallin' apart, a symbol of what things do

or better yet, a symbol of what friends do, they die

and together forever just sounds fly

that's how it sounded to me when I heard it

and slow motion was her lips as she worded

the f word

"don't take it personal, I like you a lot but I don't wanna lose what we got"

but what we got now is friction

she tellin' me intimacy and friendship she ain't mixin'

the f word

[–]An_Upghost 18 points19 points ago

The producer did nothing to the original beat. A slight change of the drums. It's not even really a sample, it's more like... a cover. No creativity on the production. That's the root of why Pete Rock is so upset.

Russell Westbrook is an efficiency machine these playoffs! Nearly identical statline to regular season, but dropped from 3.6 to 1.6 TO/game by woowayweiwuin nba

[–]An_Upghost 5 points6 points ago

Let's go in further detail (via BR):

In the regular season, Westbrook put up a PER of 22.9, TS% of .538%, assist rate of 29.8 (5.5), turned the ball over on 14.2% of his possessions and put of an offensive rating of 108 on 32.7% usage. That's quite outstanding objectively speaking. To simplify shit: 23.6 on 19.2 shots.

In the playoffs he has a PER of 28, .549% TS%, assist rate of 25.4%, turns the ball over on 7%(!!!) of his possessions and is putting up an offensive rating of 115 on 31.7% usage. 23.6 points on 18.875 shots.

These are beastly stats, and arguably slightly better than Durant's overall now that I've taken a glance at them. But the big thing here is how he's cut down on the TOs; someone using so many possessions is bound to turnover the ball a lot and he did. But cutting his TO rate down to a godly 7% on about using the same amount of possessions. This is the main reason for the large increase in his efficiency. But that's an insanely low rate for the guy, considering that he takes as many shots as KD, inheritly has more offensive pressure on himself because OKC lacks offensive balance, and that he's a PG. It's probably a very good omen, signaling that he's playing far more under control (I haven't had/been able to make any time to watch playoff games T_T, leave me alone), which makes OKC's goal of winning it all that much more palatable.

Of course there will still be people that will bitch about he's not a true PG, but it's really a non-existant issue. OKC increased Harden and Durant ball handling roles, and it's almost a Hawks style iso thing. It's far more of their system. And you'd want to take the ball out of Westbrook's hands, again, because their lack of offensive depth (after KD and Harden the rest of OKC offensively is mediocre as best imo) leave Westbrook with an insane amount of pressure and it make their offense far more dynamic in the halfcourt, keeping things a lot more varied. And he averaged 8.3 and 8.5 AST a game in the two prior seasons...If you pass a lot you're going to turnover the ball a lot, but the same applies for shooting and creating your own shot.

[–]An_Upghost -1 points0 points ago

Agreed, though my opinion of it is much more extreme and negative. I found the first season to be mediocre, while its second was the worst anime I've ever watched-no hyperbole. Susaku's character for example, became just fucking ridiculous. And there's the blatant Eva rip off, the plot holes, deus ex machina every time that the writers wrote themselves into a corner...It would all be quite good in that Jersey-Shore-watching-a-trainwreck kind of way. But the show took itself far too seriously for that.

Reddit, I want to hear success stories from people that graduated from college with below a 3.0 GPA. by Bright-Eyesin AskReddit

[–]An_Upghost -1 points0 points ago

If you're not going to grad school, then it basically doesn't matter. Most employers don't give a shit as long as you have the frigging degree. It's far, far, far more about establishing connections to people that can help you get a job and using the resources the school has made available to you.

And if they do ask but you have done a few internships or whatever, they'll likely overlook the poor/mediocre grades.

Has anybody actually tried the penis enlargement supplements that have advertisements on the side on porn websites? by fishstx420in AskReddit

[–]An_Upghost 3 points4 points ago

No, and the vast majority of them don't work. The methods that do, probably only give you an inch of so over a long period of time through actual (odd) hard work (there's probably a shitty pun there).

If there were a method that did work, then so many insecure fucks would being using it. Then leading to over-usage, and amazing horror stories with massive wangs appearing on daytime television or something.

Your story reminds me of the ending scene of Fight Club in a way. If it were more artsy and sans the film kinda of falling in on itself. (Or you've had an extremely intense and short existential crisis.)

But since you're now a blank slate/new man. You can be whoever you want, with in reason. You just gotta work at it like anything else. Good on ya for getting to a better place.

Has anyone read "Quiet"? by ar01in introvert

[–]An_Upghost 3 points4 points ago*

I've read it. Most of it was stuff that I already knew or internalized (but am too lazy/ambivalent/working toward acting on it) but I still found it interesting. But it's more directed to extroverts, to not see introversion as some sort of disease.

It's a really light read too. I basically alternated between it and Don Quixote (which I still haven't finished).

Is an INTP definitively intelligent? by BagelKingin INTP

[–]An_Upghost 1 point2 points ago

I wouldn't say so. People have said that I'm smart I never took those compliment seriously because I myself have never felt smart. I feel that I have learned so little in my life.

But regarding our type, I wouldn't say smart. More like creative-good analytical ability and to see inaccuracies and inconsistencies. And there'd be pompous, self-important INTPs, and the typical quite, (probably) modest types, and a minority in the middle. And I suppose a well developed INTP would be brave enough to spout out his ideas to people/actually develop and realize them.

Then again I don't think I've met an INTP before, so this whole post is probably garbage.

DAE find the level of retardation on other sub-reddits almost sickening? If so how do you deal with it? by Obssoyoin INTP

Using RES, I've blocked (/r/) f7u12, wtf, atheism, trees, politics, gaming, gonewild, adviceanimals, pics and funny. That's the vast majority of the site apparently. Idk know why I'm still here, but I need to go searching for more small yet active subreddits.

But um, don't subscribe to the shit you don't like. The size of the site and its upvote system has created an insane amount of white noise; you're going to have to dig deep. Or go to Digg.

I'm far more of a lurker by nature, but if you really disagree with em, then say something even if you'll get downvoted by the hivemind. Easier said than done though, I suppose.
