What's the weirdest compliment you've ever gotten? by Italian_Flowerin AskReddit

[–]AmandyWarhol 0 points1 point ago

It wasn't exactly a compliment, but similar principle. I used to wait breakfast at a local café. One morning, a grotesquely overweight man with a dime-sized wart/boil on his chin came in and ordered an enormous breakfast. He told me stories about his time in juvenile detention and other various oddities while he waited. When I finally brought out his food, he exclaimed: "AH! May the gods feast upon your liver!" ಠ_ಠ enjoy your meal?

My boss is a "tuck your shirt in" nazi (among other things), so I found a loophole in the dress code where I dont have to tuck in my shirt. What things have you done "by the book" just to piss off your boss? by kazin420in AskReddit

I know you're legally entitled to your undisturbed break and such, but I feel like if I saw one of my coworkers on a break during a huge rush I'd be fairly pissed off. It's not an issue of whether you CAN, I think it's whether you SHOULD. Responsibility and respect and whatnot. I'm totally not dissing you for that "one time you'd had enough," but I could see a lot of people abusing the right.

One of my old art teachers once told me to look at the swirly mountain thing as if it were the hair of a drowning woman... I'll never see this painting the same way again.

Bill Murray's still got it... by quackyquackcatin funny

[–]AmandyWarhol 1 point2 points ago

So my sister was in a cellar bar in New Mexico a couple years ago--one of those borderline-skeezy-but-all-the-more-awesome places. Then, lo and behold, Bill Fucking Murray walks in the door and starts partying it up, hitting on her and her college friends. In any other case... old man creeps on young women. In this case... it's Bill Fucking Murray.

He's still got it.

I kind of liked that scene. It's sort of fucked up, but it gets the point across that the ooze doesnt just make him emo and bitchy, but there's the extreme hubris aspect as well (and from what they taught me in high school, it's always the hubris that's the downfall of the hero). The whole film is sort of surreal, and I think this scene is just in the style... Though I agree that it's kind of difficult to get past the fact that it looks dumb.

It's a happy place, man. I'm pretty certain Burlington was made for Ents. Also, the academics are great, especially in the environmental sciences. I've been here a semester and I'm studying Psych and Studio Art, and so far it's been challenging but stimulating, not at all tedious. The one thing I was worried about was the size (10,000 students), but it's really easy to fall into a small community that makes it feel cozy and just right.
