So your basic argument is that the Quran itself and Islam are arbitrary and cultural, not that particular practices are arbitrary and cultural.

As for your example, this only applies to essentially criminal matters. Not that this would appease you, but there is alot of nuance to Islam that you do not see. Of course if viewed through the lens of Western culture it will seem almost capricious. LIberalism is all about live and let live - so let Muslims live as they choose please.

Please enlighten me, because it is not clear to me. Islam treats the two sexes differently, and judges them accordingly, at least recognizing their inherent differences. Of course, if you take issue with Islam being divine itself, then you will take issue with this.

I am not comparing scales of punishment - Iran is definitely the culprit in that regard. Still, your issue is with Islam, and not the head cover in and of itself. Also, the argument is not a cheap shot - it is exactly the correct analogy. One culture thinks X is ok to wear, one culture thinks Z is ok to wear, and they both legislate the minimum.

I agree most madhabs hijab is not optional. As to "why" - that debate has been hashed and rehashed. As for culture vs. divinity - who draws this line?

You are forced to hide your breasts and lower private regions. If you do not follow these norms, you will be fined, jailed, etc.

As far as I know every country on this Earth has some sort of dress code laws. Maybe some European countries you are allowed to walk around naked, however, you will notice that most people do not walk around naked. So there is a mixture of legal and societal norms imposed on both men and women.

Your appeal to human rights is interesting - it literally has nothing to do with anything, as I cannot choose to be a killer freely, I can also not choose to raise tigers in my backyard, etc. That is a preposterous and absurd argument.

Your essential problem is that you don't like head covering, or Islam. That is why you have an issue with someone being required to cover their head.

Yes, but the distinction here is that the no-choice here is that God has given them no choice - i.e., if women do not wear it, they are sinning. The same applies to men - if they do not cover their heads on a regular basis, they are sinning because they are contravening the regular practice of the Prophet.

So essentially, in your no-choice category, it is God that is doing the so-called "oppressing".

So basically, you think it is halal because you like it. The only real answer to your question is that the majority of Sunni and Shia scholars of past and present have considered marijuana haram when they were asked about it.

Getting into a discussion about the various levels of intoxication caused by marijuana, coffee, vapors and what not, is essentially irrelevant, because an analog is always made to alcohol to determine the haramness of the substance.

A good enough lawyer should be able to argue that this type of stuff is not copyright worthy since it's a mathematical principle of sorts and you can't copyright an equation.

Ideally, this is the adversarial lawyer's job - if the judge does not understand the technology, the lawyers need to educate them as best they can, and if one is doing it with bias, the other lawyer better be able to catch this. Basically, a good lawyer knows that people stare into space when you get too technical, so they should be super vigilant about that themselves.
