I never set out to level that skill.

I just pick locks on doors that I think must be obstructing something valuable (which is every fucking door!).

I recently busted off 20+ picks on a Master Locked prison cell, only to find a goddamned iron dagger on the skeleton held within.

Aside from the audible "tells" in Oblivion, these Skyrim locks are much easier.

If you have the pick aligned correctly (think of it like a hand on a clock) you can freely rotate the knife to unlock.

It's all about the pick alignment. Once you get it, it's easy to open.
