There isn't an official Christian standpoint. A church or denomination may have an official standpoint, but not Christianity as a whole.

God has a plan. You can follow it or not. Along the way he can bless you or he can test you. Pray to him so you can understand and do his will. God is your guide to living the best life possible.

"Do you believe the Constitution should separate public life and religion?" - That is worded oddly to me.

How about "should there be a separation of church and state?" Uses a well known phrase. Or, "should the government give preferential treatment to religious people or organizations?"

I helped marry a couple in their backyard. Friends and family attended. There was a processional. They basically had a script for me with their vows that they had written. And, we finished with a reception in the house. It wasn't fancy but it was their ceremony.

What I hear them say is that God has a plan, people need to seek to understand it and follow it. Humans have free will so they have to choose to follow the plan. Praying to God helps them understand the plan.
