I was coming from the 5-year-old perspective. I'm all for breast-feeding; all three of mine were on the boob for over a year. I just don't think my now teenagers would relish the memories of breastfeeding. Lol

Reality is, at 5 a kid can sit quietly if the parents are doing their job. It is of no benefit to anyone, child or society, if a child cannot behave. I also used to teach and told parents not to bother with academic pre-school. The skills a child needs to succeed in kindergarten are the ability to sit in circle time and the ability to follow direction; everything else will come easily if they can do that. And this is not about raising children to be like mine, it's about raising children to be members of a larger society.

At 5 they shouldn't be on a bottle either. At 5 every single one of my 3 kids knew how to sit down and behave appropriately.

Back in the olden days when I was a kid:) My mother used to load us into the "war wagon" (a Buick station wagon) and head out to where ever. My younger brother was obsessed with his hair getting messed up when the windows were down (pre- AC) so he would sit in the middle between my other brother and me. We'd fight, bicker, poke each other; typical kid stuff. My mom would get fed up and start swinging her arm into the back seat. She didn't care who she connected with just as long as someone got it. My brother and I would always push our little brother forward so he'd get slapped. Good times.

Don't listen to them. We are all painfully aware when we need to lose weight and they all think they're telling us something we don't know. You're a beautiful girl. Go to a professional and have those brows shaped and it will make a ton of difference. Go get 'em.

Try using a dark brown eyeliner and brownish-black mascara. I know all the beauty site tell you to use black but that's not true. The browns will look less garish. Also go to a waxing salon and have them wax/shape your brows. You're a pretty girl you just need some refinement. Have them tint your brows a little darker and play up your beautiful mouth.

I don't know about where you're from, but in CA that dog has to be quarantined and will most likely be put down. They take dog bites very seriously here (San Diego). I'm an animal lover too, but if a dog ever left my kid's face looking like that, I'd probably kill it myself.

ProTip (from mom of three): Have them put it in a zip-lock baggie (the tooth fairy like them that way). When you go in to kiss them good-night, slip your hand under the pillow and move it toward the edge of the mattress. When you go in to do the ol' switcheroo, you can slide it out without disturbing the sleeping child and slip in the money in another one.

Sat next to him the whole time. I dropped my daughter at school at 7:30 and was there until 9pm when my husband took over. Luckily the hospital has wifi so I surfed the web a lot while he was in a dilauded drug haze. I'm a nurse so I was pretty well-versed in what was going on. Unfortunately, I also knew how serious other things were. He's home now so it's all good. Parenting is not for the feint hearted:)

Thanks, he'll appreciate it. 3 weeks later he was back with an internal bleed and pneumonia:( He just got released a couple of days ago after 5 days in the ICU and 2 more on the floor. Thank god for the iPad and Reddit... kept him sane.

As a nurse who has dealt with a lot of mental health patients it appears to be more of a manic phase than drugs. He may be bi-polar which is very manageable with meds. Many highly successful people are controlled bi-polar.

The masturbating has not been confirmed. A witness said "he was touching himself." He was not arrested but sectioned. He is probably on a 72 hour hold at Mercy. And he was not a typical PCP user. He was not violent to others and was taken into custody without incident.

Just an FYI, he was not arrested. They have determined it was not a criminal offense. He has been placed under observation in a mental health facility.
