i dont think you could really have wookies/jawa/ewok because they cant speak basic. it would be interesting to run across some quests where npcs would have to deal with that language barrier though lol, also, if im not mistaken, ewoks hadnt been discovered yet.

They don't even have to be playable. I just want to interact with them. I'm a bit confused as to why the creators made such awesome achievements in the environments but seem to have neglected placing in all the wondrous species that exist in the galaxy. When I went to the senate in Coruscant I was expecting to see those giant halls filled with all sorts of species gathered together.

Quite a few, but without going into all that, there are some that already have models in the game, can already wear any equipment (With the exception of hoods, but neither can Twi'Lek's so I don't see how that matters)

Kel-Dor Weequay Togruta

Those three would add some diversity alone, the Togruta fullfills the need for something more alien but still sexy (Admit it, you care) whereas the Weequay (Wrinkly beige dudes) and Kel-Dor (Those freaky organge guys with breath masks) would fullfill the need for more alien and less pretty races. All of them speak basic, all of them are already available as NPC's.

To me, there is no valid reason these are not made playable.

Bioware's requirements as stated through many fansite interviews last year:

They have to speak Basic
They cannot have odd body features (so no Trandoshians or Wookies) To fit armor.
They must be pretty close to human-like for immersion purposes. They claimed you would not feel attached if it looked too radically different, plus the whole romance thing wouldn't feel right, according to them (so no Mon Cal)
At one time they stated no major head parts but they chucked that out of the window with Twi'leks.

Again, that's what THEY said, not that I agree with it but there are still a bunch of other races they could have picked that fit those requirements. Cathar, Voss, hell even Zeltron's would have fit Bioware's current race strategy (lol recolored human).

But no. They picked fucking Cyborgs. :|

As some mentioned below, the Taung were the race that Mandalorians modeled their culture from. The Wookiepedia article suggests they would still be in existence in the SW:TOR period, meaning they COULD be implemented.

Heck, I wouldn't mind seeing them around in stations or whatever. Someone else mentioned the lack of species in the SW:TOR galaxy, and I definitely agree. Hopefully that'll be something that is changed in the not-too-distant future.

They won't add species who aren't

1) Basic speakers

and

2) Humanoid enough to have romance options.

Togruta, to me, seems like one of only a few that could fit these criteria. Chagrian is a possibility, but unlikely. Devaronian might work, strange as they are, and suppose Voss could also make sense.

But of these, Togruta makes the most sense, and seems to be the most likely addition - though, I imagine, as Republic only.

Minor IA spoiler: An NPC in the Imperial Agent story tells you that the Voss, despite how exotic they look, have terrible breath. A spice in the local food makes their breath smell like "bantha dung". Now all I can do is smell them and it turns me off.
