Oxlade-Chamberlain is such an exciting player to watch. I look forward to seeing him tearing up defenses in the future.

[–]ArsenalIngenium21 50 points51 points ago

stay away barca, he's ours!

[–]Napolipapabear420 24 points25 points ago*

Keep him! I'd love to see him play against us.

[–]jomofro39 12 points13 points ago

You.... I like you.

[–]ape_ape_ 69 points70 points ago

Wenger: "If you don't turn this around I'll have to sub in Arshavin."

[–]Arsenaloduh 6 points7 points ago

This makes me sad :(

[–]New York Red Bullskuyakew 31 points32 points ago

"It's Dunne, but it's not yet dusted."

nice one Martin Tyler

[–]Arsenaljlstitt 13 points14 points ago

Classic Martin Tyler. Best commentator ever.

[–]NoMoreMountains 30 points31 points ago

Annoucer: well that's walcott in a nutshell.

ouch.

[–]Republic of Irelandsircozzie 6 points7 points ago

Ouch? It's not a dig or an insult, it's the truth...

[–]Arsenalund2008 11 points12 points ago

I really want to like Walcott. He just doesn't give you much of a reason to like him. His play this year has been.... weak.

[–]Arsenaldlowell 4 points5 points ago

Truth. Except against Chelsea. He always terrorizes Chelsea.

[–]ArsenalOroborus 6 points7 points ago

The truth hurts

[–]Arsenalrymin91 6 points7 points ago

Without his pace, I doubt Walcott would start for many teams in the top half of the table. It's a shame because with a little more skill he could be a really good player.

[–]Arsenaljlstitt 4 points5 points ago

It baffles me. He does everything right until the last moment each time. It's like there's some sort of magnetic field in the opposition box that warps his mental process: there's van Persie in the middle ... I should kick it into the defenders skull and bicycle kick the rebound into the side netting! No wait...pass to the fan in row Z wearing the Pires shirt! No wait...doh!

[–]Englandbibs 2 points3 points ago

But the problem is that his "everything right" tends to be one thing: down the wing with his speed. Someone like Arteta, you could put him anywhere on the pitch and he'd be able to do something - Walcott just doesn't seem to have that.

[–]ArsenalSportingFellow 1 point2 points ago

that's about right

[–]Newcastle UnitedcroutonZA 53 points54 points ago

I don't know what Wenger said at half-time, but he should bottle it and sell it.

[–]EnglandKingrasa 96 points97 points ago

Or say it before the kick off

[–]Liverpoolgoodguysteve 5 points6 points ago

Like his half-time talk at St. James' last year?

[–]Newcastle UnitedcroutonZA 5 points6 points ago

That was the exact opposite to Rafa's Istanbul teamtalk.

[–]PolandSaintDismas 23 points24 points ago

Bent you galloping man-beast. 2-0 is a harsh scoreline.

[–]Manchester Unitedenvague 62 points63 points ago

Classic Walcott finish.

[–]ArsenalPurdy14 24 points25 points ago

Pure instinct.

[–]Arsenaloduh 1 point2 points ago

Pure being_where_the_ball_was_cleared_and_looking_the_other_way kind of instict. Much needed though :)

[–]Englandaronidus 20 points21 points ago

Thomas you have one hell of a left

[–]Englandbibs 1 point2 points ago

And again. Beastly left-foot.

[–]ArsenalTheArsenal 18 points19 points ago

When van Persie doesn't score it looks as if we could play for five years without getting a goal.

[–]Arsenaloduh 5 points6 points ago

The most dangerous player in the first half was TV5. No discussions here.

[–]ArsenalTheArsenal 37 points38 points ago

3.5 games without Arteta. 3.5 losses.

[–]ArsenalMaybeice 17 points18 points ago

I personally miss Gervinho as well

[–]Arsenaljlstitt 7 points8 points ago

And fullbacks. Especially Sagna. Djourou last time actually made me just give up and start laughing instead of caring.

[–]Evertonvanderburg 1 point2 points ago

Why's he not on the pitch? I'm assuming some sort of injury. He was similar at Everton. Plays great for a couple of matches then you don't see him for a couple of weeks when you need him.

[–]Arsenalerrandrum 1 point2 points ago

THAT is the truth.

[–]Aston Villawinters-shakira 18 points19 points ago

My god, Dunne put the ball in the other teams net? Yay!

[–]AFC WimbledonGodontoast 25 points26 points ago

"Arsenal un-dunne and and bent out of shape"

-ESPN

ಠ_ಠ

[–]midas22 9 points10 points ago

Good one except the double and's.

[–]ArsenalPurdy14 4 points5 points ago

Maybe it's one of those trick sentences to see if you notice the second "and".

Sneaky bastards.

[–]Arsenalsamuarl 32 points33 points ago

Thank god for all the 'supporters' who booed at half time. There is no way the team could have realised that loosing 2-0 to villa at half time wasn't acceptable, and come out and played better in the second half if it wasn't for you. Well done.

[–]Arsenalfunksbro 12 points13 points ago

5 bucks says arsene says the word "character" at least 3 times in his post match interview.

[–]EnglandKingrasa 8 points9 points ago

'tremendous mental strength'

[–]Englandaronidus 1 point2 points ago

He better because that's exactly what we've shown

[–]29_Jan_2012 13 points14 points ago

[–]Arsenalimeanitdoods 1 point2 points ago

Suspense.

[–][deleted] 27 points28 points ago

We really need a win today. With City and United out, this is probably our best chance of winning a trophy this year. Very happy to see Sagna, Arteta, and Coquelin are back into to squad. Villa are never an easy team to play so should be a fantastic match.

[–]ArsenalCoreyy[!] 26 points27 points ago

Why the fuck are the fans booing that is not going to help

[–]Arsenalabhi91 43 points44 points ago

I don't know what he said and did at half-time, but in Arsene we goddamn motherfucking trust

[–]Arsenalerrandrum 8 points9 points ago

love when gunners say this when we win. yet are so dire when we lose.

[–]Arsenalabhi91 10 points11 points ago

i have never said a word against arsene

[–]Republic of IrelandClarkeyisafox 12 points13 points ago

.....I don't understand what's happening.

[–]ArsenalJBWill 1 point2 points ago

WHAT IS THIS I DONT EVEN

[–]Englandbibs 42 points43 points ago

OP, do you actually set up a new profile every day?

[–]30_Jan_2012 47 points48 points ago

I have travelled back through time to tell you to shut the fuck up!

[–]MiddlesbroughTaffy711 37 points38 points ago

If you're not OP then you just really wrecked their system.

[–]EnglandTactful 4 points5 points ago

I would have booked up all the things in advance just in case.

[–]Newcastle UnitedcroutonZA 4 points5 points ago

Do Arsenal come back to win this game? I'm pretty sure I could get some great odds at a bookies for that bet.

[–]30_Jan_2012 9 points10 points ago

yes arsenal win

[–]New York Red Bullskuyakew 3 points4 points ago

wwwhhhhoooooaaaaaaaaaaa

[–]Crusaderskeithbelfast 1 point2 points ago

I've registered lots of random saturdays in the coming months.

[–]Liverpoolnikcub 10 points11 points ago

Bent's instinct to remain onside and to time that through ball was brilliant, and then his finish (both of them) just topped it off.

Amazing player.

[–]Evertonmr_maroon 13 points14 points ago

YOU CAN'T HAVE HIM

[–]Liverpoolnikcub 7 points8 points ago

I wasn't even suggestin.. sorry, yes I was

[–]Englandbibs 4 points5 points ago

(Waits for that "Liverpool sign bent" joke to resurface)

[–]Liverpooldlink 10 points11 points ago

Villa players are playing FIFA it seems. SLIDE TACKLE ALL THE THINGS!

[–]Hollandkemojawo 9 points10 points ago

Arsenal line up!

Starting: Arsenal: Fabianski, Coquelin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Song, Rosicky, Ramsey, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Van Persie, Walcott.

Subs: Szczesny, Sagna, Arteta, Benayoun, Arshavin, Park, Henry.

Sagna is on the bench!!

[–][deleted] 17 points18 points ago

Ramsey again!! release the backheels !!

[–]Arsenalomgz 24 points25 points ago

i really wish he scores, syrian president needs to go.

[–]Francehot4hotz 2 points3 points ago

i dont get it, what are you talking about?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

Statement of intent from Arsene.

[–]Francesnitin 1 point2 points ago

Does Sir Chez have any injury/sickness issues or has Wenger just decided to give Fabianski some game time.

[–]Republic of Irelandsheffers 8 points9 points ago

Haha, I like how the commentator refers to Vems as 'The Verminator'

[–]ArsenalSuperlative_ 10 points11 points ago

Looks like Arsenal may end up Robin this game from Villa.

[–]Arsenaljemjenk 2 points3 points ago

They Arshavin away their deficit

[–]ArsenalChicken65 10 points11 points ago

Even with the three goals we've scored you can't really say any of them were from legit open play. The Walcott goal was an accident. It's been a long time since we've scored multiple open play goals which used to legitimize the 4-3-3 pass heavy play.

[–]Arsenalsuperkeer 11 points12 points ago

Who cares? We need the win, need the confidence. Confidence builds momentum and momentum puts success into the usual tactics.

[–]NoMoreMountains 1 point2 points ago

If we can't repeat it then...

even luck runs out.

[–]Arsenaljaso64 20 points21 points ago

I just can't give up on Arshavin just yet.

[–][deleted] 20 points21 points ago

I think it's because we all know, deep down, he still has those mad skills. Somewhere.

[–]San Jose Clashbaykid27 10 points11 points ago

I hope you're right

[–]Republic of Irelandsheffers 9 points10 points ago

I know, he's really doing his best to make me hate him, but I just like the guy too much.

[–]Arsenalcvillano 9 points10 points ago

FlappyHandski

[–]Juventusbbkdta 8 points9 points ago

wow im glad i saw that bet365 ad at halftime. now im 7 times richer. gj arsenal

[–]coatcheckgirl 17 points18 points ago

I can't stop laughing. Going from completely hopeless to leading 3-2...they'll probably fuck it all up at the end.

[–]Arsenaljairobonilla 4 points5 points ago

Yeah. They really fucked it up, didn't they? ;)

[–]coatcheckgirl 4 points5 points ago

Haha well with the way this season has gone, don't tell me you weren't worried too!

[–]Arsenaljairobonilla 3 points4 points ago

I was extremely worried! haha

[–]Arsenalsinews 4 points5 points ago

No Arshavin, no frills, no fuckup.

[–]EnglandChipsticks 16 points17 points ago

fuck off villa

[–]coatcheckgirl 7 points8 points ago

Arteta is back, thank Dennis.

[–]Arsenaledmar10 4 points5 points ago

The Ox better be starting

[–]Republic of Irelandsheffers 6 points7 points ago

Both him and RVP are, showing some intent. I'd also really like Ryo get some game time, alas Wenger deems him unready, I feel he could really do some damage coming on at the 60/70 minute mark.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points ago

Ryo could finalize his loan move to Bolton any hour now.

[–]Aston Villawinters-shakira 5 points6 points ago

Why can't Warnock make a simple back pass without an interception? Chamberlain looking very impressive, does he have that curling long shot of Bale in his bag o' tricks? Some sort of Southampton specialty.

[–]Aston VillaHolte 4 points5 points ago

BOOM! Dicky Dunne.

[–]ArsenalTheArsenal 5 points6 points ago

Bring on the striker we just bought!

[–]Liverpooldlink 6 points7 points ago

Can't. His mother made him go to bed early because he has school in the morning and he missed his afternoon nap.

[–]Liverpooldlink 5 points6 points ago

So you are not allowed to keep the ball when it goes into the stands? I thought people just tossed it back out of respect to keep the game flowing. TIL.

[–]Francewilliam701 6 points7 points ago

Arsenal! What a comeback!

[–]ArsenalFatpower 13 points14 points ago

Ah yes the mandatory half time booing by Arsenal fans. Amazing isn't it? I swear if they made half as much noise cheering the team on it might actually seem like a home game.

[–]Arsenalfunksbro 4 points5 points ago

Remember when rosicky would shoot? Good times.

[–]ArsenalIngenium21 3 points4 points ago

oh look Arsenal get scored on from a set piece.

That's different.

[–]Arsenalel_fuego91 4 points5 points ago

wow were people really leaving at halftime? ಠ_ಠ

[–]Republic of Irelandsircozzie 4 points5 points ago

Not much I can say at this point to put Arsenal down. Simply put, I've never seen them respond this well to adversity. Perhaps a little lucky to be at 2-2, but then again, had Walcott cut back to RvP, it was a goal anyway...

[–]ArsenalTheArsenal 12 points13 points ago

Uh-oh. Ramsey just successfully executed a backheel. Here come thirty-four terrible ones.

[–]Englandpunknoflowers 4 points5 points ago

Jesus fucking christ. Even when he puts in a sensational game, /r/gunners still finds a way to make a dig.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points ago

Wilshere and Afobe seem to be really good friends.

[–]Arsenaldialtech 2 points3 points ago

Man, those flash streams are terrible today.

[–]Liverpooldlink 3 points4 points ago

Wow. What an angle!

[–]Tromsøkimme 4 points5 points ago

Bent!! :)

[–]hpf2105 4 points5 points ago

The Ox has a real dig on him, fizzer of a shot.

Oh, and 0-2. :-D

[–]Aston Villawinters-shakira 3 points4 points ago

I, like many Villa fans, haven't been entirely thrilled with Lerner and co., and one half in the FA cup doesn't change that, but props to them for organizing the coaches to bus all these Villans to London to support the boys.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points ago

Good defending from Villa. I really hope Arsene brings on Arteta for the second half, it's not what he's know for but he is more creative than anyone in our midfield right now.

[–]Englandaronidus 3 points4 points ago

Thomas7 you were legendary today.

[–]NoMoreMountains 3 points4 points ago

End of game comments:

Former England manager Graham Taylor for BBC Radio 5 live at the Emirates Stadium: "I have to say that when you see Arsenal playing in the way that we know they can play, with good one touch passing and moving, they are a good team to watch."

[–]ArsenalHvoromnualltinger 8 points9 points ago

My Setanta Canada stream is playing Nickelback in the buildup. ಠ_ಠ

[–]ArsenalCoreyy[!] 6 points7 points ago

Rosicky has been top notch today

[–]Detroit City FChagemajr 4 points5 points ago

Oh good, home fans booing the team off the pitch again.

[–]Leeds Unitedsuitablyvague 2 points3 points ago

Good to see Stephen Ireland playing well again

[–]Hollandsacredserenity 2 points3 points ago

So close there from Vermaelen, bullet of a left foot.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points ago

What happened Ireland's hair transplant?

[–]Republic of Irelandsheffers 2 points3 points ago

Looks like Walcott may be bucking up his ideas, looks hungrier than he has in a while. I'd fucking hope so to.

[–]Leeds Unitedsuitablyvague 2 points3 points ago

Great assist from Keane

[–]Tromsøkimme 2 points3 points ago

Dunne!! Dunne!!! :)

[–]ArsenalIngenium21 2 points3 points ago

Arsenal aren't really that good at comebacks, so it's going to be a painful 2nd half. :(

[–]Aston Villaavfc41 5 points6 points ago*

Don't worry, Villa's not that good at holding onto leads.

edit: goddamnit i hate being right

[–]Republic of Irelandsircozzie 2 points3 points ago

Pretty shocking really. Can't hang on to the ball, can't penetrate their defence, every time Villa counter-attack they look like they'll score, and Mertesacker is lost out there...

[–]Republic of IrelandClarkeyisafox 2 points3 points ago

Arsenal looking really up for this. Oh wait sorry no I meant the other one... Villa, that's it.

[–]midas22 2 points3 points ago

How can Dunne still be on the pitch?

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points ago

Sagna and Henry!! So good to see Sagna back.

[–]Liverpooldlink 2 points3 points ago

As a neutral, great match. A tale of two halves really. Thanks to both teams for a very entertaining 90 minutes!

[–]Aston VillaKMFCM 2 points3 points ago

great match.

That's the kind of comeback Arsenal need to be able to make more often.

Villa looked awesome first half, but they fell apart.

[–]NoMoreMountains 2 points3 points ago

BBC Sports:

Former England manager Graham Taylor for BBC Radio 5 live at the Emirates Stadium on Arsenal being booed off: "Arsenal have the players to knock the ball about to one and another but when you have as much possession as Arsenal have but they are not getting shots in then it starts to irritate people. You see your side in total control but you don't see the opposition goalkeeper worked, that is what is frustrating people."

[–]ArsenalIngenium21 7 points8 points ago

The more I see walcott play, the less I like him.

I used to think he was a great player with tonnes of potential, but now every single time I see him play I see him miss a shot or cross, and then he turns around to complain to the ref or a fellow player.

I hope miyaichi comes good soon.

[–]coatcheckgirl 2 points3 points ago

I've wanted to like him for years, but he just seems to constantly disappoint. And I feel like I'm taking crazy pills because so many people keep saying how good he is and I just never seem to see it. He's certainly quick, but he either runs straight at defenders and loses the ball, or puts in a terrible half-cross-half-shot that goes nowhere.

[–]Aston VillaKMFCM 5 points6 points ago

hat trick for Bent???

(hell, he probably should have nailed that header earlier)

[–]NoMoreMountains 2 points3 points ago

Nice set play. Very hard to defend. All villa players crashed the back post.

[–]San Jose Clashbaykid27 4 points5 points ago

Fabianski over Szcz? Anyone know any particular reason why?

[–]BelgiumBryndyn 14 points15 points ago

Give Fab some game time presumably

[–]Arsenalerrandrum 6 points7 points ago

fa cup...

[–]ArsenalRampage_ 3 points4 points ago

We should remember that Fabianski was doing a decent job in the first half of last season before getting injured. He should be given some play time and chesney gets some rest.

[–]Arsenalomgz 2 points3 points ago

and i heard fabianski is injured too...

[–]ArsenalIngenium21 3 points4 points ago

the chez needs to rest, Fabi needs play time, this is what Wenger does.

[–]Hollandsacredserenity 1 point2 points ago

In case we win this, we will play Sunderland/Middlesborough away.

[–]Leeds Unitedsuitablyvague 1 point2 points ago

Robbie Keane to score first

[–]Arsenalerrandrum 1 point2 points ago

strong villa team put out though, should be a cracker.

[–]Francesnitin 1 point2 points ago

Guys, I need some help. I've exceed the monthly high-bandwidth quota on my internet connection, and my speed has now been throttled to 256kbps. Can anyone link me to a really, really low quality stream? Please?

[–]Arsenalund2008 1 point2 points ago

FSC viewers just saw Lecce beat Inter 1-0. There may have been 15,000 supporters in the stands.

[–]BarcelonaFCBarca45 1 point2 points ago

Hoping Aston Villa pulls an upset, sadly knowing its not gunna happen. So have a good match gunners

[–]Santosfaxwellington 1 point2 points ago

Shit verm nice shot

[–]Arsenalund2008 1 point2 points ago

Good start for the gunners. Have to keep the pressure up. They have a tendency to settle into these games before getting an opener.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

Great effort and slide tackle by the Ox.

[–]Arsenalund2008 1 point2 points ago

Fabianski is making me nervous. It's as if the two keepers are playing a game of chicken.

[–]Arsenalund2008 1 point2 points ago

Fabianski playing like hes the number 2 keeper. He'll cost the Gunners today.

[–]Arsenaljairobonilla 1 point2 points ago

Fuck

[–]bobmitch 1 point2 points ago

Class from Petrov there.

[–]New York Red Bullskuyakew 1 point2 points ago

Nice delivery Keane. c'mon lets see Henry!

[–]Arsenalnanor 1 point2 points ago

I wonder how many more times they're going to let advantage play before they actually give arsenal a call.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

Are you fucking kidding me

[–]NoMoreMountains 1 point2 points ago

Oh fuk this!

[–]ArsenalTheArsenal 1 point2 points ago

Giving up the goals is bad but I'm honestly much more concerned that we look like we'll NEVER SCORE.

[–]United Statesepik 1 point2 points ago

No creative force going forward. Everything is very predictable.

Ramsey and Rosicky are not playmakers.

We need Arteta or Benayoun out there.

[–]Tottenham HotspurDiscoBenny 1 point2 points ago

45' GOAL! Brent (Aston Villa)

Yeeeah i don't think that's quite right.

[–]Englandmutatedfreek 3 points4 points ago

Fucking David Brent.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

FUCK CAN WE GET A BREAK

[–]Republic of Irelandsheffers 1 point2 points ago

If we could score from corners, we'd have a great chance of actually winning this thing. I'm startin to think Villa are just kicking it out for a corner because they know we're not going to score.

[–]New York Red Bullskuyakew 1 point2 points ago

walcott is the black hole of football. just shoot!

[–]Arsenalcvillano 1 point2 points ago

WTF KINd OF A SHOT!!! We need midfielders who can score gahhh

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

We're the poorest finishing team in the league.

[–]ArsenalTheArsenal 1 point2 points ago

In all fairness to the lads it's been a promising six minutes.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

PENALTY

Was there an Arsenal player casually walking back while we were on the attack?

[–]Republic of Irelandsheffers 1 point2 points ago

Second yellow, surely?

[–]Aston VillaHolte 1 point2 points ago

Dunne is a ridiculously clumsy defender.

[–]Arsenalel_fuego91 1 point2 points ago

FUCK YESSSSSS

[–]Arsenalcvillano 1 point2 points ago

Wtf is going on hahah KEEP IT Up!!!

[–]Aston Villawinters-shakira 1 point2 points ago

This is more like it!

[–]New York Red Bullskuyakew 1 point2 points ago

HA lucky goal by walcott. bizarre.

[–]Arsenalel_fuego91 1 point2 points ago

so.. who wants to take bets that the first sub will be Arshavin for our lead?

[–]EnglandDeamios 1 point2 points ago

Come on lads!!

[–]Francehot4hotz 1 point2 points ago

walcott shouldve passed. lucky mofo in the world

[–]EnglandKingrasa 1 point2 points ago

Nice to see someone else choke a lead, never expected a Mcleish side to do so anyway

[–]Francesnitin 1 point2 points ago

Aston Villa ki maa ki choot!

[–]ArsenalGunner4life 1 point2 points ago

3-2 for the gunners!! KEEP THE FAITH!

[–]Arsenalsuperkeer 1 point2 points ago

FA Cup magic!

[–]PolandSaintDismas 1 point2 points ago

This is crazy! More goals please.

[–]RebelRecruiter 1 point2 points ago

WTF?! I run to the store for 10 min and I come back to see RVP score the go ahead goal. I missed all the excitement :(

[–]Franceobgynkenobi 1 point2 points ago

Interesting tactical change from Arsenal, they became more direct on the wings and running at people and it started to pay off.

[–]Germanymeinbart 1 point2 points ago

both Dunne and Bent scored and caused a goal, does that happen often with Aston Villa?

[–]Liverpooldlink 1 point2 points ago*

A good counter wasted because of a player lying on the fucking ground. Was it worth it, Walcot?

[–]Arsenaloperationwasted 1 point2 points ago

I just woke up. Holy shit we actually came back!?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

Arteta coming in gives me a lot of comfort. He's been so good this year and we missed him a ton.

[–]ArsenalMaybeice 3 points4 points ago

it's like the time when you were a kid, and your dad came back from work... just makes me warm inside seeing Arteta on the field

[–]ArsenalChicken65 1 point2 points ago

Good to hear the commentators calling him "Verminator".

[–]Arsenaltonynz 1 point2 points ago

At first I thought the Ox was a rip off for someone his age, but after seeing him play, what a bargain. Better than Arshavin.

[–]Arsenaloperationwasted 1 point2 points ago

Sagna's warming up! Welcome back!

[–]NoMoreMountains 1 point2 points ago

Never quite understood why someone of that speed would comfortable being marked by one man.

[–]Liverpooldlink 1 point2 points ago

Black is back? Did I hear that right?

[–]Detroit City FChagemajr 3 points4 points ago

Bac is back, Bacary Sagna, our RB has been out since October.

[–]Liverpooldlink 2 points3 points ago

Ahh, Wasn't away of this abbreviation of his name. Thank you for clearing it up for me.

[–]Arsenaloperationwasted 1 point2 points ago

intense closeup on Arsene
