Sir Alex Ferguson is in bed when his wife wakes him .. (self.soccer)
submitted 7 months ago by Breaking-Bad
'Wake up, dear, It's 7..'
Sir Alex replies:
'What?! They've scored one more?
[–]Arsenalmy80lbBALLS 21 points22 points23 points 7 months ago
you know its bad for man utd fans when SportsCenter in the USA adds it to their highlight reel...
[–]ChelseaGangplank 217 points218 points219 points 7 months ago
Man, I've never felt bad for United fans before... and I still don't. It's so delicious
[–]Norwich CityJackoNorwich 21 points22 points23 points 7 months ago
Delicious describes it really well, haven't seen this much egg on united's face in my lifetime twice over!
[–]Manchester Unitedcondeh 0 points1 point2 points 7 months ago
Its OK, we had the QPR score to lessen the pain somewhat ;)
[–]ChelseaGangplank -1 points0 points1 point 7 months ago
Whatever you need to help you sleep at night :3
[–]SwedenFaceStealer 66 points67 points68 points 7 months ago
It's actually six past De Gea.
[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 7 months ago
This is a better punch line than OP's
[–]Liverpoolm4rk0551 80 points81 points82 points 7 months ago
Haha its funny how all the Arsenal jokes are being recycled back. Except I felt bad for Arsenal back then, I feel no remorse for Man U!
[–]Arsenal1gunners4 18 points19 points20 points 7 months ago
At first, I was reluctant to harp on Man U too much, and then I looked at the starting lineups:
Evans-Ferdinand-Smalling-Evra Anderson - Fletcher - Young Nani - Welbeck - Rooney
With Chicharito, Phil Jones, Park, Berbatov, and Valencia all on the bench. And then you look at Arsenal:
Jenkinson - Djourou - Koschielny - Traore Ramsey - Coquelin - Arshavin Walcott - Van Persie - Rosicky
They aren't comparable. Arsenal were limping along after having just lost Fabs and Nasri, whereas Man U appeared to be at the height of the powers. And so, I will revel in all Man U jokes.
[–]gocarsno 8 points9 points10 points 7 months ago
There is another difference, though. Arsenal's 8:2 was deserved and reflected the run of play. I think United's score was harsh. City was better, but not 6:1 better. They lost 3 goals in the added time.
[–]Arsenal1gunners4 17 points18 points19 points 7 months ago
Both matches were 3-1 at one point and Arsenal looked like having the best chances of getting back into it. RvP missed a penalty and Arshavin missed a 1 on 1 with the keeper. Had any of those gone in, 8-2 never would have happened. Man U, on the other hand, never looked in the match at 2-0, much less 3-1.
But, even granting that Arsenal's performance was poorer than Man U's, Man U was still beaten at home with a respectable starting lineup, whereas Arsenal fielded what would be a weakened even for the Carling Cup, much less Man U at Old Trafford.
[–]Arsenallimitz 2 points3 points4 points 7 months ago
8 first team players out. Replacements for replacements were unavailable.
It would be tough for any team that basically lost its entire midfield, and had 8 players out to play against United at OT.
[–]Arsenallotlotters -1 points0 points1 point 7 months ago
JENKINSON! Argh I cringe when I read his name. He lost the game man. He lost Bale v Spurs. He lost n Manu. The Scourge of Arsenal: Jenkinson.
[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 7 months ago
Jenkinson was bought as a project, not as an impact player. We never expected to be playing him so early. That being said, he tracks back well, crosses the ball accurately, and is deceivingly pacey. He's really young and only a few games out of League 2. Give him a chance.
A team which misses a penalty and a 1 on 1 is pretty much asking to lose. Footy isn't about having the best chances, its about taking them.
Not to negate shameful Man U performance, however.
[–]ArsenalMySperm 11 points12 points13 points 7 months ago
good to hear liverpool fans have our backs :) I also felt bad for Liverpool with all that Gillet and Hicks cunts that ruined your club back then :( but seems liverpool are back on the up now :P
[–]LiverpoolAido_b23 0 points1 point2 points 7 months ago
If we can score some of our chances we'll be fine but there are teams creeping up on us, Newcastle are flying and spurs have a game in hand, not mention Arsenal on a roll at the minute. We need to get back to winning again. Two draws in a row can make life very difficult, as i'm sure you know! Oh and we got your back...for now.....:)
[–]Arsenallimitz 7 points8 points9 points 7 months ago
Fair play :)
[–]Tottenham HotspurE3_Lunatic -1 points0 points1 point 7 months ago

why?
[–]kingtubby 19 points20 points21 points 7 months ago
1 in the pink, six in the stink.
[–]Manchester Unitedreddevils 8 points9 points10 points 7 months ago
So you're calling City pussies? :)
[–]Manchester Citybobosuda 7 points8 points9 points 7 months ago
And United assholes, apparently >_>
You have to admit, for a footballer, better to be an asshole than a pussy.
[–]Manchester Citybobosuda -5 points-4 points-3 points 7 months ago
You would think so, but it doesn't seem like it.
[–]flapjowls 2 points3 points4 points 7 months ago
This time, defying all logic, pussy fucks asshole. 'Oh Yeah, scissors... this is hot scissoring, scissor me timbers.'
[–]ChelseaCowieee91 0 points1 point2 points 7 months ago
Pretty accurate description really...
[–]EcuadorDeep-Thought 36 points37 points38 points 7 months ago
silly of me to think I could come back to r/soccer so soon. see you next week.
[–]Hollandosmun 52 points53 points54 points 7 months ago
Oh grow a pair you nancy.
[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 7 months ago
I dunno with all the 8 2 jokes that have been going on four three fortnights this could easily just turn into one lol gunners thread.
[–]Arsenalfrazaod 5 points6 points7 points 7 months ago
Glad it was a Gooner that said this. r/soccer is masochistic for me at times...
[–]Manchester Cityegetsa 38 points39 points40 points 7 months ago
That was 1-6 joke.
[–]Manchester Citymcityftw 2 points3 points4 points 7 months ago
Ohhhh I get it now.
[–]AC MilanWalrusOnTheRocks 1 point2 points3 points 7 months ago
i don't get it, is this British humour?
[–]staticmotion 5 points6 points7 points 7 months ago
That was one sick joke.
[–]shippu 0 points1 point2 points 7 months ago
Except that doesn't really work because six doesn't sound like sick.
[–]Arsenaljxmitchell 0 points1 point2 points 7 months ago
It does if you come from Yeovil.
[–]Tottenham HotspurRyuuken1127 10 points11 points12 points 7 months ago
This is better than the time Middlesborough beat Man United 4-1
[–]Englandvalaranin 6 points7 points8 points 7 months ago
I beg to differ
[–]Newcastle UnitedsCaRaMaNgA 9 points10 points11 points 7 months ago
I personally enjoyed it when Newcastle beat them 5-0 and then Southampton beat them 6-3 the week after.
[–]Manchester UnitedzSolaris 13 points14 points15 points 7 months ago
You do remember what happened at the end of that season right? :)
[–]Manchester Unitedehsany -11 points-10 points-9 points 7 months ago
Funny joke but Sir Alex will turn it around and man utd are strong.
[–]Juventusadityaseth 7 points8 points9 points 7 months ago
I don't get why this guy has been downvoted. At all. Shame on you, r/soccer, he was nice enough to appreciate the joke, and it's not like the rest of his post is wrong... SAF is a wily bastard, if any manager in the Prem can bounce back from this in style, it's him.
[–]Manchester UnitedJimmymgs 1 point2 points3 points 7 months ago
I agree, I feel sorry for Everton at the weekend. United are going to want to come out all guns blazing to show they're still contenders.
[–]Chelseathreejd 1 point2 points3 points 7 months ago
Well Everton are sure to carry some confidence from an away win at Craven Cottage, and they can hack it with the best of them. Everton might get a result.
[–]Manchester Unitedehsany 1 point2 points3 points 7 months ago
It's alright downvotes don't hurt me. r/soccer can be biased at times. I really did think it was a funny joke. I have personally been at Carrington, seen Sir Alex in person and I know they can always succeed because of their great system. Looking forward to the next game against City.
[–]ArsenalCafeNero 0 points1 point2 points 7 months ago
Agreed, and good for ehsany. As I said in another thread all fun in games. In reality, its just 3 points and they remain strong and respected if not loved. That would be asking too much from a gooner. ;-)
[–]Manchester Unitedehsany 0 points1 point2 points 7 months ago
Thanks buddy. As always looking forward to our match. I think it's gonna be great this year!
[–]ping0m0r3 -1 points0 points1 point 7 months ago
I agree. I just wonder if (and let me emphasise the if here) Man City pip United to the title, Ferguson will decide he doesn't have the stamina to carry on? City have so much strength they'll constantly be knocking at United's door.
Post-Ferguson, I can only see United getting progressively worse. It's the cycle of football. They'll be back for another decade, at some point.
[–]Arsenalrvabhoy 0 points1 point2 points 7 months ago
I doubt the greatest manager in the history of the UK quits because Citeh take the title. Something tells me he'll be found dead in his office before he ever calls it a day. But yeah, w/o him, they won't win as many titles. Maybe they will if Mourinho takes his place, but that likelihood's got to be small odds. It's only October, Citeh could still drop plenty of points before May while Utd rarely fade at the end of the season.
[–]ping0m0r3 0 points1 point2 points 7 months ago
I always find it strange that Man United fans shout for Mourinho after Ferguson, seeing as they lamblasted his style of football while he was at Chelsea. Sure, they had different players, but his style has rarely changed, even despite the huge attacking talent at Madrid.
Yes he will. Save a little hurt pride, and a trophy will heal that quickly.
[–]AC MilanWalrusOnTheRocks -5 points-4 points-3 points 7 months ago
Weren't half or more of those goals against a 10-man squad? Yes, 6 goals is impressive either way, but it wasn't against a full squad... so lets just take it easy, aiight?
[–]ping0m0r3 2 points3 points4 points 7 months ago
I hate this argument. Man City were causing problems and Utd had a player sent off because of it. It's like Mourinho's comment when he was at Chelsea that "Barca have never beaten us with 11 men" - man, how bitter does that sound??
[–]Manchester Unitedyourfacegoddamnit -6 points-5 points-4 points 7 months ago
This is gonna be a long week.... School was already so stressful today, being a man utd fan and all......
[–]Juventusadityaseth 9 points10 points11 points 7 months ago
Lol, try supporting a team that DOESN'T win the league 3 out of every 4 years, then whine about stress because of the team you support.
[–]Swansea Cityseveredfragile 4 points5 points6 points 7 months ago
All you're doing is getting a taste of what everyone else has had to live with from you guys for years. Wipe away the tears and deal.
[–]Manchester UnitedUS_Eh 1 point2 points3 points 7 months ago
Its alright we'll get over it eventually. Our club has tasted success and glory well beyond the spectrum of any current club recently. A loss like this was bound to happen sometimes. What goes around, comes around. Lets just hope for a crushing victory in the carling cup tomorrow to ease tensions a bit and get back to winning ways
[–]Liverpoolgoodguysteve 8 points9 points10 points 7 months ago

Rehashing Wenger jokes from a month ago.
Weak.

[–]zapaman 8 points9 points10 points 7 months ago
He is my 6 : 1 you are his 8:2
[–]Arsenalcptsteve21 7 points8 points9 points 7 months ago
Relativity: Being scored on 6x or being scored on 4x. Not to mention getting your worst spanking at home in your #1 derby match.
[–]ArsenalCafeNero -18 points-17 points-16 points 7 months ago
Wake up dear, It's 7.... Fergie: Fuck me they scored again?
Then there is : Leave Man U Alone!
