Were some of his answers weird? Of course. But of those that we they sound more like some poor understanding or mistake rather than being half-assed.

For example:

Well I usually wouldn't say fun...intense, challenging, engaging, yeah.

Sounds like it was meant for another question rather than his PR guy just banging anything in as a reply. Does that really justify crucifying the guy?

He (or I should actually say they) did answer the question about the prom thing. They said it was false. There is nothing to say it is true.

If I say I fingered Michelle Obama, make up elaborate story and then end it with "/not kidding", that doesn't make it true.

If you look at how people responded in the comments and then look at all the other submissions that followed in other sub-reddits, you'd expect that he acted like a complete dick. He did not.

It could have been better but believe it or not, the internet is still new to some people especially the idea of doing something like an AMA. Reacting like he's touched a child just because clearly he and his PR person are the most savvy people with this sort of thing is embarrassing, imo.

If people had complaints about his responses but reacted like "I appreciate you taking your time out for doing this but I think answers are lacking / a bit poor/ etc" then maybe they would stayed around and tried to improve or at the very least people would get respect for respectfully disagreeing with how they did it.

Instead it turned into something that would belong on Fox news or TMZ.
