By that rationale, Mexico is also open to jihadists, and it's only 0 miles off our border.

[–]SixBiscuit 52 points53 points ago

That's why we're building a fence dumbass!

[–]sharules 26 points27 points ago

Canada is open to jihadists too.

[–]SixBiscuit 65 points66 points ago

Sanction Cuba, wall off Mexico, nuke Canada.

Santorum 2012.

[–]SinStudly 6 points7 points ago

I think you mean Santorum Cuba, wall of Mexico, nuke Canada.

Santorum 2012.

[–]SixBiscuit 1 point2 points ago

The irony is creating Santorum is illegal in Cuba! Santorum should fucking love that place. Being gay is illegal!

[–]Praxxus 8 points9 points ago

If it wasn't so late, I'd make an "ISOLATE ALL THE THINGS!" meme.

[–]SixBiscuit 10 points11 points ago

Terrorist.

[–]Praxxus 1 point2 points ago

ISOLATE ALL THE TERROR!

Wait, that makes no sense.

[–]weebeasties -2 points-1 points ago

Delete facebook, hit the gym, get a lawyer.

Reddit 2012

[–]stephen_j 0 points1 point ago

I've heard that most immigrants come through Canada rather than Mexico. Why wouldn't the terrorists do the same?

[–]sli 5 points6 points ago

Ok, that gave me a genuine laugh.

[–]LegendReborn 2 points3 points ago

Haven't you seen the video of them training on the Monkey Bars? Just you wait, next step is the pole vault and then we're fucked.

[–]SixBiscuit 0 points1 point ago

You're thinking of the blacks not the Mexicans.

Santorum 2012!

[–]tomdarch 14 points15 points ago

You're trying to be funny, but that is absolutely a Republican talking point.

[–]sli 1 point2 points ago

How about Canada, then?

[–]dried_up_waterparks 6 points7 points ago

Canadianhere. In the last election mccain was parroting the point that the Sept eleventh hijackers came from Canada. Which is a falsehood

[–]korvanos 5 points6 points ago

personally if I was canada I'd already have fenced the US off.

[–]oSand 0 points1 point ago

If Canadians started wearing turbans, they could get the US to do it on their own dime.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

You mean? all this time, it was a lie!

[–]lethal_weapon_five 0 points1 point ago

We are seen as selling USA inferior resorces and that Americans should not buy Canadian products. Our soft lumber is accused of being a shit product, we know thats y its called soft lumber and is use as wood chips and insulatiob aswell as pressed wood The real reason USA hates it is because they can't compete with our prices. Funny enough our oil is exempt from this viewpoint.

[–]DrXenu 4 points5 points ago

HOLY SHIT! scribbles on paper for a minute MY.... GOD.... that is closer. FUCK we cant even nuke the sons of bitches without losing Disney land!

[–]korvanos 1 point2 points ago

Sometimes honor demands sacrifices my friend.

[–]Fidel_Castro 125 points126 points ago

Ah yes, we communists are really known for loving religious extremism.

[–]excitom 14 points15 points ago

[–]OneTinSoldier 21 points22 points ago

muslim godless commies? ;p

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points ago

Canadian muslim godless commie liberals.

[–]GravyMcBiscuits 3 points4 points ago*

Commie Nazi Muslims!!

For reference.

[–]udelblue 2 points3 points ago

Commie Nazi Muslims zombie liberal!!..

[–]Ghost_of_Castro 10 points11 points ago

"I feel a great respect for all religions. The Christian religion was the one I best knew, for I spent 12 years - as some of you probably did too - as a boarding student in religious Catholic schools ... those schools were more like a convent than a school, because that was the type of life we led, for which I'm even glad today, because it taught me discipline, stoicism, spirit of sacrifice, many positive things that later helped me throughout my life."

-Fidel Castro

[–]johnhummel 7 points8 points ago

And Newt Gingrich well knows how dangerous an atheist government would be - because it would institute Sharia law:

“I am convinced that if we do not decisively win the struggle over the nature of America, by the time they’re my age they will be in a secular atheist country, potentially one dominated by radical Islamists and with no understanding of what it once meant to be an American.” - Newt Gingrich

[–]Roach55 5 points6 points ago

If being anything like Newt Gingrich is what it means to be American, I would rather forget and possibly be euthanized.

[–]czyivn 2 points3 points ago

lol. That's what happens when you try fearmongering with your base, without worrying about whether it makes sense or not. An atheist islamist radical would be a terrible person to try reasoning with. He'd be killing people for the sake of something he doesn't even believe in. A dude like that, there's not really much you can say to convince him to stop.

[–]lethal_weapon_five 0 points1 point ago

He would have no motivation because he would know that a heaven with 72 virgins does not exist.

[–]johnhummel 0 points1 point ago

Until the money stops flowing in, the bullshit will keep flowing out.

[–]revmuun 0 points1 point ago

An atheist islamist radical would be a terrible person to try reasoning with.

Well according to a good portion of the Republican base, that person is already occupying the White House.

[–]wolfehr 2 points3 points ago

A secular atheist country dominated by radical Islamists? How is that even possible?

[–]Aaronman 1 point2 points ago

As if it wasn't obvious before... Newt Gingrich really has no fucking clue what's going on in the world, including but not limited to: the things he says.

[–]johnhummel 1 point2 points ago

Ask Newt. I'm sure he thought long and hard (about how his base is afraid of the words "secular, atheist, and Islam").

[–]Celik8 1 point2 points ago

Apologies. I misread.

[–]AaronHolland44 35 points36 points ago

My god. I wonder when the media and politicians are stop going to use fear tactics to sell you their product. I mean for fuck sake how unlikely is that scenario?

[–]dubyakcwell 10 points11 points ago

so unlikely that if you don't believe it it'll probably be unbelievably likely that you're not an American and believe me if you want to be believable you've gotta be an American for the kind of America Americans everywhere believe in and love.

Believe Me, Rick Santorum 2012

[–]DanyalZ 4 points5 points ago

whats the possibility of you dieing in a plane accident? 0.02%. Now ever wounder whats the possibility of your own heart killing you?

Stop living in fear for all of your life. Stand up be strong.

[–]dubyakcwell 13 points14 points ago

Friend, I think you missed my comment's inherent nonsense sarcasm. I hate Rick Santorum and everything he believes in. Thanks for the pep-talk, though.

[–]DanyalZ 2 points3 points ago

sorry broski. :(. Well at least i didn't down vote you XD

[–]gamzer 0 points1 point ago

People kill their hearts. Not the other way round.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

They believe it in SC first, then it spreads like herpes.

[–]Negro_Napoleon 2 points3 points ago

when he comes out of the closet.

[–]jesusthug 1 point2 points ago

Very likely. Muslim terrorist love Cuban cigars!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

cause they are rolled by virgins...

[–]sfresh666 -1 points0 points ago

Do you know how they make these things? 12 years old Cuban boys use their saliva to seal the cigars shut, now i'm sorry but if i must swap spit with a 12 years old Cuban boy i expect dinner and a movie first.

[–]heavenlytoaster 1 point2 points ago

when the media and politicians are stop going to use fear tactics to sell you their product.

hahaha, thats a good one

[–]distantland 1 point2 points ago

when citizens finally stop buying into that nonsense. which will be never. using fear to manipulate the masses has been used forever.

[–]pill_popper 33 points34 points ago

This might very well be the dumbest man on the planet.

[–]LiteweightPhenomenal 4 points5 points ago

This is what you get when you indoctrinate religious people to argue against what others think rather than to have solid arguments for what you believe in & why it is just. This idiot is the Jesus Camp candidate for the president of the United States.

[–]maxxusflamus 0 points1 point ago

No. He's not retarded- he knows exactly what he's doing. The people who support him are some of the dumbest people on the planet.

[–]u2canfail 36 points37 points ago

Santorum loves war and killing. That is why he is ProLife.

[–]andropogon09 22 points23 points ago

That's also why he avoided military service. According to Santorum, being a US Senator is equivalent to serving in the military. http://dailycaller.com/2012/01/05/santorum-compares-holding-elective-office-to-military-service/

[–]cowstalker 8 points9 points ago

He meant like in Top Gun. Lots of shirtless dudes playing volleyball.

[–]gerp 3 points4 points ago

oil, you gotta have oil...

[–]blackjackjester 1 point2 points ago

Hey, lets be fair. You only have the right to live until you're born. It's obvious.

[–]wolfehr 0 points1 point ago

I think you meant ProLife®

[–]downvotethis2 13 points14 points ago

This whole republican thing is just hilarious. These guys keep trying to outdo each other with the over the top insanity.

Will Gingrich respond to this with a promise to put Patriot missiles in the Keys? He's already promised ice cream to Israel.

[–]dtrainusmc 4 points5 points ago

It's the WWE of politics.

I'm waiting for Romney to stroll out with a folding chair, hit Gingrich with it and put him in the Boston crab.

[–]downvotethis2 1 point2 points ago

Jesse Ventura 2012! lmao.

[–]rickythepilot 16 points17 points ago

Noticed that Ron Paul said the opposite and was the only one to get an applause.

[–]wolfehr 0 points1 point ago

Too bad the Cuban population in Florida is probably mostly registered democrats. Hoping I'm wrong on that though...

[–]Caspus 1 point2 points ago

Faith in humanity resto.....

... nope, can't keep a straight face.

[–]IrishJoe 22 points23 points ago

Cuba??? An officially atheist unofficially Roman Catholic (like Santorum) Communist country will be assisting right-wing Islamists?

[–]tomdarch 23 points24 points ago

Remember, Iraq was run by the secularist (anti-religion) Ba'athist dictator Hussein, but he was somehow coordinating with fundamentalist Sunni terrorists al Qaeda whose origin was wanting to make Saudi Arabia even more fundamentalist.

and according to Michelle Bachmann, the rebels in overwhelmingly Sunni Libya might have been under the control of Shiite Hezbollah...

And Gov. Perry thinks that the moderately Islamist AK Party in Turkey is a bunch of "fundamentalist terrorists."

Sometimes Republicans think we're stupid enough to buy their crap, sometimes they're just stupid.

[–]eromitlab 8 points9 points ago

Don't forget Gingrich's claim that America is becoming a secular atheist country that could possibly be simultaneously dominated by radical Islamists. Because atheists love and embrace the tenets of radical Islam soooooooo much...

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points ago

I likes me sum sharia.

[–]alexunderwater 2 points3 points ago

Anytime Romney called Gingrich out on valid points in last night's debate, Gingrich would respond, "Those are lies and I believe the American people are smart enough to see through that."

What.The.Fuck.

[–]korvanos 1 point2 points ago

What's really wierd is that somehow islamist has become synonomous with terrorist.

Christianity has been used for terrorism for two thousand years, seems kind of unfair to assign the terrorism label only to islam.

[–]dtrainusmc 0 points1 point ago

Christianity is still used for terrorism.

These days it's more political and intellectual than physical.

Unless a president initiates a war that will most likely kill a million people because "God told him so".

[–]ThinkofitthisWay 0 points1 point ago

These days it's more political and intellectual than physical.

The Lord's Resistance Army has been killing/raping/kidnapping/enslaving quite a few people for a while now.

[–]dtrainusmc 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, there are still very violent Christian sects. No denying this. However, most of it still resides in our politicians that use a pen to push their moral conservatism on the population. Not violence.

[–]wolfehr 1 point2 points ago

Christians even have their own version of holy wars. Instead of using the phrase jihad they used crusade though.

The Crusades were a series of religious expeditionary wars blessed by the Pope and the Catholic Church, with the main goal of restoring Christian access to the holy places in and near Jerusalem.

Wikipedia: Crusades

About 40,000 people died in the first crusade alone.

[–]Ashlir 3 points4 points ago

And again Ron Paul is left off the list. He's the only one who wants to stop all the bullshit fear and get out of the war business.

[–]gorilla_the_ape 6 points7 points ago

There you go trying to confuse us with facts. Facts can be used to prove anything!

[–]runner_fag 10 points11 points ago

Demagoguery, plain and simple. The only thing that would give Santorum more of a hard-on is if Castro was gay.

[–]Praxxus -1 points0 points ago

I thought Frothy Rick was more into man-on-dog sex.

[–]Praxxus 6 points7 points ago

Too many Republicans still think the best way to lock in Florida is to stir up the anti-Castro vote. This shows an unfortunate lack of understanding demographic trends on their part, but does make for excellent fear mongering.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points ago

I bet most republican primary voters in florida don't like our "Tropical" neighbor to the south.

[–]Praxxus 1 point2 points ago

That's probably still true, but less true than it used to be. Also, "Latino" in Florida can no longer automatically be assumed to mean "Cubano," which is what most Republican candidates are still running with.

[–]blahsauce 6 points7 points ago

I'd rather die in a terror attack than have the TSA active, and keep enforcing pointless embargos and bans on countries like Cuba, and force stupid restrictions and policies onto Iran. People are people. people are fucking people.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

Agreed.

[–]korvanos 0 points1 point ago

people are fucking people.

And as a republican I this needs to be against the law!

note: I am not really a republican.

[–]czyivn 1 point2 points ago

Well, I wouldn't personally rather die in a terror attack, but I understand what you're saying. I'd rather take the RISK of dying in a terror attack than have the TSA irradiate and then grope my balls. Removing the pointless embargos and warmongering would be even better.

[–]biggles86 5 points6 points ago

this man is a moron, on a biblical scale

[–]oreography 5 points6 points ago

And lo the lord said "Stop using my name to promote your bigoted agenda Rick"

[–]diggduke 13 points14 points ago

I wonder if we'll see more of Santorum coming from behind, now that Perry has pulled out . . . .

[–]ryanpsych -2 points-1 points ago

Win

[–]CodgerDodger 8 points9 points ago

Wishful thinking for war mongers everywhere.

[–]archimouse 5 points6 points ago

How progressive... sanctions imply we might actually start trading with our tropical neighbor to the South!

edit: grammar

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

Tropical...HAHAHAH!! Code for brown skinned lefties.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points ago

I lock my car doors when I see communists go walking by.

[–]IceOnTitan 5 points6 points ago

I think Santorum is hiding Jihadists in his anus.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

Frothy political "tools"

[–]cowstalker 4 points5 points ago

Cuba is already teeming with Jihadists. At Gitmo.

[–]rounder421 4 points5 points ago

God I wish once someone hosting this things would just stand up and say, You know, you're fucking crazy, how did you get in here!

[–]OldManWeed 0 points1 point ago

because it would apply to all of them

[–]mutatron 2 points3 points ago

Yeah, that was a real forehead slapper.

[–]aovillalon 3 points4 points ago

just pure fear mongering

[–]Neowarcloud 3 points4 points ago

The GOP primaries are there to make Mitt Romney look sane, but oddly people have shown less interest in Mitt Romney than expected...Ultimately, I think they are a bunch of fucktards being propped up by a bunch of people who are completely out of touch with reality...

[–]A5dr3 2 points3 points ago

Finally, a politician who realizes the danger of the contamination of our precious bodily fluids.

[–]Inverted_Tortoise 1 point2 points ago

[–]waitwaitWhet 2 points3 points ago

When I heard him say that I was like wtf. Dude's so out of touch with reality it's scary.

[–]eromitlab 2 points3 points ago

Lemme tell you something about that guy... that guy is a retarded idiot.

[–]ShannyBoy 2 points3 points ago

Without sanctions on America, America will be open to jihadists which will be 90 miles (or more) inland of our coast.

[–]tomdarch 1 point2 points ago

Having to try this absurdly hard tells me that cracks are developing in the propaganda. Yes, Cuba is a despicable totalitarian regime that has huge numbers of political prisoners, and yes, religious militants are dangerous. But the current sanctions only strengthens the regime, at the price of harming ordinary Cubans, and nothing in Santorum's statement makes any sense in terms of improving our security.

Their scams are falling apart all at once, so they might as well bundle them together.

[–]LetsPoker 1 point2 points ago

Really made my blood boil watching this live. This hypothetical is so improbable I couldn't help but laugh to myself.

[–]rwalt92 0 points1 point ago

Even after debating the man in front of a crowd of fundies, I still wonder if the man is genuinely this stupid, or if he's just trying to corner the market when it comes to stupid voters.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

South Carolina= market cornered.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

There have been so many GOP debates and so little policy discussion. Instead it is character attacks and nonsense like this.

[–]MagicTarPitRide 1 point2 points ago

His campaign is sunk.

[–][deleted] ago

[deleted]

[–]MagicTarPitRide 0 points1 point ago

Look at his polls, he is saying desperate things and people pick up on that. He looked nervous and pathetic during the polls compared to the other 3.

Santorum 'Mojito Loco' - Ingredients:

  • 1 part crazy religious fundamentalist
  • 2 parts insane conspiracy theories
  • a spritz of ignorance
  • and a lime to taste

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points ago

Shake until frothy.

[–]spagnitz 1 point2 points ago

dan quayle 2

[–]shamusoconner 0 points1 point ago

Follow up question: How do you (Santorum) feel about US Military bases breathing down the neck of the Iranians?

[–]arrachion 1 point2 points ago

Where those Cuban Jihadists passing in front of the camera at 1:37?

[–]Leo55 1 point2 points ago

Kids, Yoda was right.

[–]FoxifiedNutjob 0 points1 point ago

Onward Christian Soldiers...

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

Best call the navy to blockade Cuba so no jihadist try and sail to the bahamas.

[–]meticulousmatty 1 point2 points ago

Seems like Santorum has no clue... Not very surprised.

[–]Account_Mondego 1 point2 points ago

Now we can finally get back to the good old days of the cuban missile crisis.

[–]ninjacows 0 points1 point ago

this sounds like an american smear campaign against cuba.. they're alright, you know. nice little nation

[–]rebo 1 point2 points ago

What the fucking fuck?

[–]threetrappedtigers 0 points1 point ago

Is he not aware of the U.S embargo?!

[–]alexunderwater 0 points1 point ago

In the words of Romney: "Radical, Violent, Jihadists"

[–]ThisOpenFist 0 points1 point ago

Catholic Jihadists?

[–]Honker 1 point2 points ago

That fucker needs to wipe his mouth. He has santorum all over it.

[–]dd99 0 points1 point ago

Okay, I'll bite. In what way do the sanctions inconvenience jihadists?

[–]Roach55 0 points1 point ago

Doesn't he realize the US is the only country bringing Muslims to Cuba.

[–]foreverskeptical1 0 points1 point ago

He talks about doctrine, and about trying to conform places around the USA to a mold which they can control ("[...] make sure that our hemisphere and those that are close to us are folks that we can and should deal with"). He talks about "confronting" (i.e. take over) Cuba when the Castro's are dead, to help the cuban people essentially (I'm paraphrasing, but he doesn't hide it very well) "see the light and walk down the correct path to 'freedom'" (i.e. an USA-controlled government). If that is not the words of a fundamentalist, paranoid fanatic I don't know what is. Santorum is, by his own standards, as bad as the islamists he hates. And South American people supporting jihadists? They're catholics for fuck's sake!

Americans, don't put this man in charge.

[–]zingbat 0 points1 point ago

when butt froth opens his mouth, its pure comedy. Please please let this guy be picked as VP candidate by Romney or Gingrich. Biden would shred him alive.

[–]Mostfoul 0 points1 point ago

The embargo with Cuba needs to end. We openly trade with countries with much worst human rights violations. The cold war is over, that mentality needs to end.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point ago

He's pandering to anti-Castro Cubans in Florida. Barack Obama has begun to lift sanctions, which will continue to improve Cuban quality of life and move towards normalizing relations. This will hurt his electoral chances with the exile community in Miami, and Santorum is trying to swoop in and get that community voting for him, except without any understanding whatsoever about the community's issues, ideologies, or preferences. He just knows they want sanctions, so he said something about sanctions, and then he was like uh terror terror muslims augh because that's what Republicans do.

[–]cranktheguy 0 points1 point ago

The next suggested video by youtube is "Stupid Hoe". That seems appropriate.

[–]The_Dok 0 points1 point ago

Unlike our home grown terrorists (Oklahoma City) who are already here...

[–]rsnider 0 points1 point ago

There he goes Spreading Santorum again!!!!

[–]CosmicBard 0 points1 point ago

Holy shit, does this guy not remember the fucking cold war and how it was bullshit?

Jesus fucking christ, YOUR ALLIES ARE ALLIES WITH AND TRADE WITH CUBA!

AWS?

[–]basec0m 1 point2 points ago

Guess what Rick... you are being out-bred and there is nothing you can do about it. Starting wars with nations not of your religion or race will do nothing but extinguish your kind faster. Assimilate and practice tolerant policy... it's your only hope.

BTW... I'm white and ex-catholic but the facts are the facts.

[–]Aufstieg 1 point2 points ago

HE'S GOT THAT COVERED, BRO. NO CONDOMS LOL

[–]Only_Says_Ron_Paul 0 points1 point ago

Ron Paul

[–]MagCynic -3 points-2 points ago

Here, let me put a better paraphrase than the OP:

Santorum: Get rid of your dictators, give your people freedom, and America will be happy to open up trade relations and help you prosper.

Oh, the horror. Yeah, Santorum is so crazy. /sarcasm
