Don't you dare skip it. It's the film where Bond falls in love (a rare thing for Bond, outside of perhaps Vesper Lynd from Casino Royale), a love that would indelibly inform his character for movies to come.

The only one you're allowed to miss is Never Say Never Again. It is a silly waste of time.

And not an official Bond movie.

No. It's a good Bond film. Lazenby is not Connery but he is under-rated.

It depends on why you watch the James Bond movies and whether you find you care about the James Bond character (and character development) or if you're just watching to be entertained.

OHMSS is one of my favorite James Bond movies, though its ending is very different from those of other Bond movies. Dianna Riggs is very good in her role in the movie.

Watch it for the continuity. Stay for the score. Despite the flack it gets I really enjoy it (especially compared to a lot of the Roger Moore ones).

Just start watching it. If you lose interest then skip it. Nobody's forcing you to watch the entire thing if it's boring you, but if you're curious about it then you may as well give it a shot.

If we're talking about the pre-Daniel Craig Bond films, OHMSS is possibly the best one.

Watching all the Bond films? Prepare to notice that many of them are essentially the same plot, and can get really quite repetitive. Or at least that's how I felt after doing the same.

Have some integrity. If you skip On Her Majesty's Secret Service, then pretty soon you'll be skipping Moonraker and The Living Daylights and Die Another Day and Quantum of Solace.

If you just want to watch the good Bond movies, watch the good Bond movies. You have plenty to choose from and no one will blame you. But if you're going to the trouble of having a Bond marathon, you watch all the Bond movies.

If anything, skip Diamonds Are Forever. It's a lazily made conclusion to OHMSS and filled with forgettable characters.

It's not that great, but as someone already mentioned there is a big plot point about his wife that they allude to in the other movies.
