Yeah... of course you'd want to show off your fireblade...

Ah who am I kidding, I learned on the Hurricane!

That thing is awesome!! It looks like a really comfortable riding position. I like it.

At the risk of being burned at the stake by the ATGATT guys, it was a Yamaha 115cc Neo. Rode it for several weeks on vacation in Thailand, and put a good 1000 miles or so on it in the process. Not the most inspiring bike in the world, but the location and experience certainly was.

I think I barely touched 40 MPH with that thing, and it was straining hard to get up to that speed! But I loved every minute of it!

Meh, considering what you're riding and where you're riding it, IMO you're somewhat acceptable for that ride LOL

I'll let it go....this time..Just.Once.

*puts down torch and pitchfork (gestures: I'll be watchin you)

Not a real-real bike but This! was the one that started the love; I know I'm old

This was my first bike(love) before I got the CBR, had to sell it coz my friends said it looked too ugly. Great beginer bike though /S

I don't know what the hell that thing is but it's AWESOME!! Reminds me of something I would have thought was badass from when I was a kid in the 80's!! I would ride that thing with a big smile!! And I've never been a big fan a 'busas but I think it'd be wild to have something with that kind of displacement!! Glad you're on our team now though!!

Streethawk- I watched that intro "Man, Machine.." so many years back and decided then and there- "That's It! One day I will get a sportbike that does 300MPH!"

Kids these days..mumble mumble..get off my lawn..grumble

HAHAHAHA!!! That is the greatest thing I think I have ever seen in my life…I'm dying over here!! This is the kind of shit that should be on the front page! And don't worry, I have already begun downloading "Street Hawk - The Complete Series". There goes my night!! Thanks Trexin!!

My first bike was a Yamaha YZ80 dirt bike. This is not me or my bike, but it is the same bike.

Wow... I wasn't going to respond since I assumed that most would be modern sportbikes, but without a single older bike represented, I have to include my first: a 1966 Yamaha YL1.

It wasn't much compared to your toys, but it was a ton of fun and hooked me for life.

Edit: fixed the year, thanks for the catch... not that anyone would believe that bike was made it 1996!

[–]Schooling4fun2002 Ninja 500R 0 points1 point ago

I think you mean a 1966 YL1? It's a cool looking little bike. I've always wanted to ride a small displacement, 2 stroke motorcycle. Seems like a blast!

[–]johnnyrocket69Ducati 848 or something 0 points1 point ago

Yeah I was going to say that does not look like anything made in '96.

this was the bike that started it for me. Suzuki Marauder http://i.imgur.com/dlBJL.jpg

Learned on the 2009 250r. Have had it for over 7 months. Working on buying an SV650s this weekend. Here are my two toys. And very shortly after I bought it. Mississippi river in the back ground.

[–]TrexinF-142008 CBR 600RR 2 points3 points ago

Subie represent! Symmetrical AWD ftw!

In 8/10 pics I've seen of sportbike owners showing Car+Bike, there's a WRX/STI

[–]Charli3q2008 Suzuki SV650 0 points1 point ago

She's a fast little bitch too. ;) STI turbo swap, sti tmic, down pipe/exhaust, tune. :D

[–]Keisaku2001 GSX-R750 1 point2 points ago

I love bikes so much but the only car that gets me going (outside of the typical old school camaros and such) is an STI. That would be so much damn fun.

Guzzi's are just class man. I love the look of the v-twin hanging out the sides. That Le Mans is beautiful!

She was the best starter bike I could have asked for, and she instilled in me a great passion for the sport. Sadly stolen after only 4 months together, she is gone but not forgotten.

[–]dracthrus1985 Honda Magna 0 points1 point ago

I started on a 250 ninja but, really love my current bike a 1984 honda Magna 700.

Although she is getting completely redone for next year and should get a few looks from people Custom Magna, she still needs to be glassed then tore down, painted and all the wiring cleaned up before she is ready to go out again.

Not the prettiest thing in the world, but plenty of power and a fun ride. I'll always miss this bike.

Here's a shitty pic of my 1989 Yamaha FZR400

That's the only picture I have of it. It was rife with issues from day one. I got it when I was 17, and my enthusiasm led me to make a bad purchase. This thing had problems. Head light not working, tachometer dead, speedo cable dead, stalled at low revs and once on my way home from work, the chain snapped and locked the rear wheel. But man, when I was riding that thing around that summer I'd never felt such independence. With the problems mounting though, I sold the bike and financial situations dictated I couldn't get another bike. Finally got back into it with a DRZ400SM two years ago

I still love the FZRs and would love to have one again, but they're only getting older.

I had much fun on a bunch of small dirt bikes before i got my first true street bike. It was a red 1982 Honda Ascot. Leaked oil and had a iffy starter. Was a fun bike to move around town on. After that was a 92 CBR600F2. Followed by my current 07 CBR600RR. The only new bike I have ever owned. I have always lusted after a v45/65 magna or a RC51.

The first bike that I owned: beauty!

This was on a pedestal at the Art Institute of Chicago when my parents and I were there for a spring break trip back in 5th grade, I think it was 1999 or so. I spent about 10 minutes just walking around and looking at it from every angle, I couldn't remember ever seeing a more beautiful machine. I can pinpoint that day as the moment I first got into motorcycles and started me down the path of the rider.

As far as my first true love I've actually been able to ride, it has to be my now-deceased 1994 Honda VFR750F. I had her for a month and a day before a woefully ignorant driver decided to run a stop sign in front of me, and although she's been replaced with a 5th-gen, that '94 will always be my first true motorcycling love.

[–]snoots2008 CBR600RR 1 point2 points ago

My first love.

She was a lot of fun, and I was sad to see her go. I'm thinking about getting one of the newer ones to fill the void in my heart.

My winter Ninja... My first bike, and I have to say, loving it so far. I've put on 800 km's so far :)
