"v" was probably the server-side script trying to insert an additional line for readability. It's pretty common practice in .NET for it to just insert a random consonant as a line break... or when it set its drink down on the keyboard.

In php, a ~ may be inserted (being open-source, it tends to be a bit more fanciful)

Can somebody explain me what is the point in stealing steam account?

Do you get credit card details out of it or something? Or it's just for some games? In which case, why bother, if you want them for free, go pirate? Or it's to get new identities for some cheating trash thats banned in leagues? But again, whats the point, if you can proof your account is hacked, don't valve disable stolen account?

Some people have the credit card linked to the account. So what the people do is buy a bunch of games and then just gift them to their accounts. IMO pirating the games is way easier, but thats just me.

I've had a friend who has encountered basically this same phisher and had a good laugh at it. Also I've had an account called Community try acting like a community message to get me to go to a phishing site on steam once, I promptly reported the account and left the community it found me through, haven't been bothered since.
