If you haven't smoked weed start with that.

[–]bholzer 5 points6 points ago

All of the above. MDMA is always a good place to start

[–]cjdavda[S] -1 points0 points ago

MDMA Won't make me inattentive or hard at concentrating for more than a few days?

[–]bholzer 3 points4 points ago

Most likely not. Some people are affected badly by the come-down. It can make you irritable or just down, but many people don't have a comedown at all. If I take MDMA one night, I feel completely normal the next morning.

[–]my_drug_account 3 points4 points ago

If it's really clean molly you might even have afterglow the next day.

[–]Apollinaire131 1 point2 points ago

Indeed, and the afterglow is great. Nothing beats feeling amazingly content and relaxed when you half-expect to feel crappy and tired.

[–]bholzer 0 points1 point ago

Yup, I usually feel pretty refreshed.

[–]cjdavda[S] 0 points1 point ago

Awesome, thanks!

Depends if you have a decent hookup and know what your getting. Its easier to be sure with mushrooms or weed. You defo want a recovery day after MDMA (mainly because the social situation is likely to keep you up late).

Don't do it the week before something important as you can get a bit emotional the next week due to the serotonin drain. I'm assuming you don't have any mental issues/are on any meds.

I would stick away from LSD until you have a good week free and the perfect situation with an experienced tripper. LSD can leave you devastated for the next month (emotionally/mentally trying to incorporate difficult experiences) or boost you up and give you enormous amounts of creativity. Wait till you have an experienced sitter. I think you can get away with a small dose of shrooms or molly though.

16 here as well, tried weed last night for the first psychoactive experience of my life. Very enlightening and probably the most benign in terms of affecting your school work. Psychedelics like shrooms or LSD would proabably be the next choice, but from what I've heard doing them over a break would be best, as the after effects can linger for a while. Key is to be comfortable, friends you trust work great, or even at home with out any if you are the forever alone type, just make sure the atmosphere is postive and your parents won't come in while you trip. Hope this helps.

[–]dohse 14 points15 points ago

I dont want to sound like grandpa dohse but you really should wait a few years before psychedelics (especially LSD). They are awesome and indescribable and amazing, but only if they have the right platform to work with. The human brain is still gelling at your age and the experience just isnt the same. You could handle it and be fine, dont get me wrong, but these drugs almost project the contents of your mind across the universe (at least thats what you are playing with on them). Its best to be fully equipped before you do that.

This wont make sense to you but some of the older, wiser acid heads will understand.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points ago

Thanks for this tip, all of my resources are either peers or strictly informational readings. Something like this gets overlooked.

[–]bkk2090 1 point2 points ago

If you do psychedelics when you aren't ready (you probably aren't) you might get a huge mind fuck and it can change you for the worse permanently. But it can also change you for the better if you let it.

[–]cjdavda[S] 2 points3 points ago

Thanks. It's nice to get advice from somebody my age and in my general situation.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

No problem, feel free to PM me with any further questions or concerns, it seems that we are both in the same metaphorical boat.

[–]Narpity 2 points3 points ago

I was in a very similar situation a couple years ago. I started smoking a little every couple of weeks and now I smoke a little bit almost everyday to help me relax and sleep better.

MDMA is definitely a weekend drug for me, needing a recovery day (although cannabis helps with that too, I saw an article in a scientific journal stating that in essence cannabis helped prevent some of the long term damage of MDMA). In addition, stay super hydrated, it'll prevent you from becoming dehydrated which is just an all around bitch. My rule of thumb is if my urine isn't clear or a very light yellow I didn't drink enough water.

Mushrooms and LSD are, in my opinion a break drug, especially with mushrooms you feel blah for a couple days while your body is restoring all the brain chemicals, so it's not that you can't concentrate it's that you just don't want to. Also, remember your buddy, especially your first time!

I'd highly suggest picking up some 5-HTP which can be bought at a local vitamin store and in some grocery stores. Basically it provides all the building blocks to create serotonin (which you released all at once with drugs! yaaay!). They'll make come downs much easier :).

I think that was all your questions and if you have any more I'd be happy to answer, and if I don't have the answer I have a house full of recreational drug users that probably can.

[–]cjdavda[S] 0 points1 point ago

You, sir, have some very useful advice stored in that noggin. I am especially grateful for the 5-HTP advice. I plan on starting with MDMA or Salvia in a few weeks, weed later.

[–]doubleme 4 points5 points ago

Not sure why you want to do salvia or mdma before weed. They're both much more intense. Is it because salvia is legal? Ignore what your friends tell you about weed and demotivation, it isn't true. I strongly recommend you smoke weed first, it gives you a good taste of what drugs can do to you.

[–]artiface 4 points5 points ago

Do salvia first and you will probably not want to touch drugs again...

[–]stepup2stepout 1 point2 points ago

You're 16. Don't rush into trying MDMA. You're at the height of mental and physical growth, and MDMA, while a "safe" drug, can be pretty harmful to a developing teenager. Give it a few years before you try it.

[–]Apollinaire131 2 points3 points ago

If you do MDMA, make sure it's pure molly. I highly highly suggest staying away from pressed tabs. I will never again take a pressed ecstasy tab, after having a single bad pill given to me. Also, know & trust your source. At 16, obviously this is going to be difficult, but it is important. Take it with close friends, people you genuinely love. Look to take something from it; my first roll was one of the most life-changing experiences I've ever had.

Good LSD will last a long time. It's beautiful and awe-inspiring, and can be a very significant experience. I don't think this is the one to start with, because if you're not ready and things go awry, you'll be in it for a long time. Last time I dropped, I still had some minor tracers & whatnot some 21 hours after dosing. It's intense.

Shrooms are a wild ride. It plays with your emotions and mind in ways you didn't think possible. It can be amazing, or terrifying. You have to be a good state of mind to enjoy these. Be excited for the trip, know you're going to have a good time, and make sure any potential things you've buried in your mind are dealt with and you are 100% comfortable with yourself.

Really though, just smoke some weed for a bit. Get used to the general feeling of an altered consciousness before you try anything heavy.

Drugs aren't a bad thing by any means. But know your limits, be responsible, and remember there's a time and a place for everything. All 3 (MDMA, LSD, & shrooms) are something I feel almost everybody should experience at least once in their lifetime, but please make sure you are ready. Especially the psychedelics.

[–]cjdavda[S] 1 point2 points ago

Thanks. I was talking to a friend who's pretty experienced and he said about the same thing. I look forward to responsibly growing used to the feeling of being high and then, in a few years I'm guessing, I want to try shrooms or LSD when I'm ready. Thanks so much.

[–]Apollinaire131 2 points3 points ago

Of course. The mind is a fascinating thing to explore. I'm glad to see you have a responsible attitude towards these chemicals, and I hope when you get to these 3 it is an amazing, life changing (for the better), thoroughly enjoyable experience.

[–]samsin 2 points3 points ago

You're 16. Wait a couple of years.

opiates being just as a pleasant start

Hahahaha, oh god no don't touch opiates or stimulants, OP. You're young, you don't know what kind of graves you'll start to dig when you get into this stuff.

[–]robeandslippers 1 point2 points ago

Honestly, I think you should wait 2 years and spend that time researching any drugs you think may be a good choice for you. Either way, enjoy the trip!

[–]teb311 0 points1 point ago

brain chemistry/biology wise I'd really recommend waiting at least a couple years to do something as significant as MDMA/ LSD/ psilocybin(mushrooms). Weed is an obvious starting point for drugs, it's easy to get, it's impossible to overdoes (in the 'kill you' sense of the word) and it's pretty tame, ie you won't have a 'bad trip' and end up with PTSD - a real possibility with both mushrooms and LSD. You won't have to worry about the set and setting with weed, and you don't have to be a strong person who is comfortable with yourself either to have a fun high.

If you're gonna do one of the non-weed drugs anyway then theres some required reading in my mind. I posted here what I think is a decent summary, I highly recommend doing your own research, and trying to stick to reputable journals whenever possible. Also I'll add that mushrooms and LSD are not particularly social drugs, at least they haven't been for me. I like to trip with 2 to 4 people total plus maybe a babysitter and I spend a lot of that time being introspective and doing my own thing.

I'm personally a bit weary of MDMA; it's hard to get it pure and a lot of the stuff it gets cut with can sometimes damage your brain in a permanent way. As a result I haven't done it. Someone else said it, but it bears repeating: stay away from pressed pills.

[–]4Aiur 0 points1 point ago

Chronic is a great starting place, and has been my standby since I was your age. Past that, MDMA and if you feel confident, try LSD. Personally, I didn't feel ready until last year at age 20. Mushrooms can bring a little more intensity, careful with those. Cocaine gets a bad rap but is pretty cool if you have self control and are willing to do some simple purification in the kitchen. The ones to be careful with are opiates and benzos. Adderall and cocaine are also pretty iffy though once you get into the higher dosages. I know you can get them at the gas station, but please do not use salvia or any of the "legal herbs".

[–]Borax 1 point2 points ago

This won't be what you want to hear, but if you possibly can, I would definitely recommend putting it off for a few years. It may not seem like it but you're still very young, your brain is growing very quickly, and even if you're the least naive person you know, you're still very inexperienced in the world. It's not just for your brain's sake, but for your liberty too. I know I would have been far more at risk if I had been involved with drugs before I was out of school.

Of course, no-one wants to hear that, so if you must indulge, go slowly and carefully. Drugs demand the utmost respect and care, and failure to show this will wind up with you as a statistic in the drug war, or another one of the horror stories in DARE.

I would recommend low-medium doses of psychedelics, as these are physically very benign and very unlikely to wind up in a hedonistic spiral. MDMA is an incredible experience, but it is very tough on the brain, particularly developing one, so you should pay extra attention to the suggestions of not exceeding 150mg, not dosing more than once every 2-3 months and resisting that incredible urge to have more as you're coming down.

Cannabis is a good one, but don't be fooled into thinking it's harmless, because it's not. All of the tenuous links to health harms have been shown to be more likely for younger users, Using several times a week or more seems pretty harmless, but there are only a minority who can get away with it without slipping into the lazy stoner stereotype. Not to mention of course, the incredible risks associated with tobacco if you decide to smoke it with that.

I have limited experience with opiates, but would only ever recommend them to those with a LOT of self control. If you're one of the people whose brains are wired for them, they can land you in deep water. Sadly prescription opiate use is becoming more and more normalised in america, which highlights another failure of the drug war.

Stimulants are good fun, and can be used for studying too, but I have never met drug users as fucked up as long term stimulant abusers. I don't know quite what it is, but coke and meth users tend to remain very odd long after they have quit.

Alcohol - it's ok, if you can exercise moderation, but it is incredibly harmful and there are better things around. Very similar are benzos, personally I find these very boring, but some people do love them. They're very relaxing, and good for chilling out, if you're into feeling sleepy. Taken on their own, the risks are very low, but if you allow a habit to form they are incredibly addictive.

I would advise against salvia, it's not very fun, and not really representative of any other drugs.

[–]omgitsliv09 0 points1 point ago

Start by smoking weed first. If you just go straight to acid, or even shrooms your gonna have no idea what to feel, and most likely you'll freak out. I got straight A's in high school, graduated at the top of my class, and won a national scholarship all while smoking weed everyday. You just have to maintain focus in school, its all mind over matter. If you start smoking bud, shrooms and acid will come to you through the grapevine. It's waaaay eaiser to hunt down bud than it is MDMA, LSD, or shrooms.

[–]phosphorror 0 points1 point ago*

Despite it's unique experience, DXM is what I'd recommend next. Keep with first two plateau, though. It's better to try higher doses after experiencing other psychedelics first.

[–]bkk2090 0 points1 point ago

get some MXE and a high grade scale that weighs milligrams online, then do some research.

[–]lol_u_so_kawaii -1 points0 points ago

Drugs aren't a hobby.

[–]cjdavda[S] 3 points4 points ago

Then how would you describe using drugs recreationally? Any advice is awesome

[–]astley166 0 points1 point ago

I personally find it best to separate it into experiences that I find deeply interesting (Seeing how drugs change my perception and questioning my everyday assumptions), and fun seeking (the more social type of having a night out). There are crossovers but deciding what you want is dependent on which of those you are seeking. A mind fuck or just a bit of meaningless fun.

Also a good combo that's relatively safe is Weed + Nitrous Oxide (aka laughing gas). Nitrous is legal in most countries so shouldn't be hard to source safely. Doing that once in a while with a B12 supplement is a nice way to get a trippy experience without breaking your brain.

[–]autobots 5 points6 points ago

They certainly can be. At least they start off that way and progress into something else.

[–]omgitsliv09 0 points1 point ago

they're a way of life, man.
