"...more fun..."

"Imagine one of those poor guys being set on fire, and see him running about aimlessly, arms flailing in feeble attempts to put himself out. Cute little screams could enhance this effect."

...what?

You've obviously never played Dwarf Fortress. It's adorable.

Little animations with training (bricktrons wiffing and shooting themselves in the foot, for example) and paranoia in dark areas would be very clever. Nice idea.

Dungeon Keeper was amazing and I like this idea, personality goes a long way, although I have to say the whole 'tavern' idea reminds me of stronghold more than dungeon keeper. It could be good if implemented successfully, but it could also be an annoyance.

As for underground tunnels, traps and training areas? Absolutely, I would expect nothing else.

No, I don't think this would work well with the engine and would needlessly complicate things and put more stress on the developers.

Personally, I'd play Dungeon Keeper for Dungeon Keeper and Castle Story for a funny little RTS with awesome destruction physics and custom castles, I don't want that cluttered with more micromanaging.

Now, to build MY defences against the oncoming darkness!

Well, giving your units some form of emotion should definitely be there. Managing their health/sanity could always be enabled/disabled through game options. That's the beauty of games, with proper coding, games can be customized to fit the player's style of play.

I actually retract my earlier statement now that I think of it, because if it's toggable, (Such as Simulation Mode and Battle Mode), I would be happy as I can fuck around, (Battle Mode), or play seriously and think, (Sim Mode).

Thanks man!

I would love, if it went in this direction.

While I like a lot of the ideas, I think we need to see what the devs are planning first. If we smother them in ideas their overall vision and goal might not be achieved, which would lead to a product that takes the same direction as Minecraft, sparse updates, and ones that don't really make sense to appease people instead of creating the game the developers had in mind.
