That thing totally reminds me on Howl's Moving Castle.

Go look up Howl's Moving Castle LEGO -- some kid and his mom from Japan made it. It's DOPE.

Is this brimming with life, or is it just me? My box of mindstorms and other assorted crap has never cried for me more loudly...

I would like to build that. If it could be offered as a kit, I'd buy it

I would pay hundreds of dollars for this as a kit.

Don't worry; when the revolution comes, he'll be the first we feed to the Jawas.

Anyone read Phillip Reeve's Mortal Engines series of books? This is right out of them basically.

Holy fuck. It's things like these that made every kid want to grow up to be a LEGO minifig.

[–]reverendfrag4 3 points4 points ago

I always wanted to be a minifig. They were always smiling, always happy. They never cut themselves. They never OH GOD OH SWEET JESUS PLEASE MAKE IT STOP MAKE IT STOP MAKE IT S

They didn't? You didn't play with your minifigs the same way I played with mine. Mine suffered horrific, crippling burn injuries from which many of them never recovered.

If this is how life is after a massive climate disaster... why does anyone want to avert disaster? Fucking. Cool.

I think it's fascinating watching spambots slowly get better and better at writing plausible articles:

The biggest success is that this Lego Crawler Town could work both in concept and execution. Personally, I think this Lego Crawler Town is supposedly a luxury resort set.

That's just adorable. It's like watching one of my little cousins learn to speak.

Althrough it is naive, but it provide amazing information. I like it.

When you post a wide angle shot of a very detailed image, and make that image a link to another image, that other image should be higher resolution, NOT THE SAME EXACT THING.

[–]wes00mertes 3 points4 points ago

Sigh. When I see things like this I miss playing with LEGOs. I had tens of thousands and made some pretty awesome stuff (not this awesome).

If you liked those pictures, you'll enjoy the original Flickr page and user that they're from:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/29844928@N07/sets/72157623336807855/

(If you'd like to preserve your wistful childhood thoughts, don't proceed past this line.)

All rights are reserved on these photos, yet they provide no link to the original source - of which they even blatantly copy Dave's own commentary about his design.

... Which honestly doesn't surprise me, because toydots is a complete spammer blog that posts nothing but stolen content.

Edit: Looks like lusismasy is the only account that's survived, and surprise surprise she's commented on (and likely upvoted) a crossposted version of this same article. Looks like enjoylives and cermansuper are two more to add to the list.

Thank you for posting the original link. I just decided to check reddit for Crawler Town links and downvoted any that did not point to the original flickr page. Upvote for those that do.

Then I tried to find a contact link or email for toydots and there isn't one! Unbelievable. Would love to tell them they're idiots.

[–]pudquick 2 points3 points ago

Ah, you've uncovered yet another sockpuppet account: brazingfuuny.

RE: contact link - why bother? The entire site is nothing but rehashed stolen content, often full of extremely broken english. Personally I wish the reddit admins would just ban the entire domain.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

Domain bans are pretty rare, but please submit any spamming rings you find to Report the Spammers. It usually will get them banned, actually.

Keep up the good work! Have you reported those accounts to the section of reddit that would make everyone aware of their malicious activities? I ask that in all seriousness.

[–]pudquick 0 points1 point ago

sorry, this has been archived and can no longer be voted on

The original link I provided about toydots submissions on reddit being nothing but spam posts was indeed sent to /r/reportthespammers by me. I'll make sure to add in a report on these additional accounts.

How is that "ecopunk"? It seems pretty ecologically destructive with those crawlers and the airport.

God, that is so fucking cool. That's the kind of 'toy' that makes a grown man want to sit and marvel at it.

If I ever get absurdly rich, I will have a house built entirely from lego bricks. No wood or steal supports, ALL bricks. It will be up to the architect and engineer to figure out how.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points ago

LEGO is the plural of LEGO, not LEGOs. You are being downvoted for this.

Lego, Lego Bricks, Legos. English is a living language. Shakespeare liked to coin new words too. Got to celebrate it!

[–]shakajumbo[!] 0 points1 point ago

Gucci mane, SouljaBoy and Shakespeare, all coined new words. You've got to love a living language. :)

Imagine if you could buy this from Lego: the box would be taller than you are, the assembly instructions would be as thick as a phone book and it would cost $15,000.

You mean LEGO, right? Have yourself a merry little downvote.
