Good idea, though let's hope they use a LiIon battery that doesn't catch fire.

I was actually expecting one that self-charged with body movement.

I used to have a watch that would get its energy from my arm movements. Of course, sleeping too long would stop time.

What watch was it? A Seiko Kinetic watch will run for many many months without being moved, then when it stops it will continue keeping time for up to 3 years. If you shake it within the 3 year timeframe it will spin back to the correct time.

I know because I have one in front of me that I haven't worn in a few months.

That's really cool! I have an automatic watch but its battery runs out after about a day and a half of not wearing it.

It's like a purchasable super-power. The ability to power any device wherever you go! And it's got a light up power meter.

Can you imagine the pickup lines you could use in conjunction with it?

I saw this post last night and then spent the next 4 hours looking at hiking power options. I ended up looking at a lot of solar options, and this one apparently is the best.

I almost pulled the trigger on one of these last night at about 0300, but I held back. Portable power options are the coolest.

If you need this for a road trip, you can do better. Cigarette lighter USB chargers!

Lets me run my ipod, sirius, garmin, and phone charger from two outlets.
