So... it's a standard hanging lamp, with an annoying cord to get in the way ?
Poltras 3 points4 points5 points 1 month ago[-]
I thought it was the cord that was strong enough to hold the lamp :( That would have been cool.

All for the low price of £180-200.

I'd be worried that someone would trip over the power cable.
jezmck 2 points3 points4 points 1 month ago[-]
There are clearly visible wires holding them up.

not nearly as cool as I originally thought they were. I figured the stand was just designed to look like the power cord which actually turned into a power cord somewhere on the ground. I am disappoint.

Same. And I think that idea actually has potential -- a base made of something stiff which happens to look like a haphazardly draped cord.

But what is holding the wires up, eh Mr. Smarty Pants?
frolo 1 point2 points3 points 1 month ago[-]
Well, that's dumb as hell. An opportunity to make the lamp "float" mysteriously on a solid wire base disguised as the power cable, missed completely. Instead, it looks like a '30s sci fi movie flying saucer with a big retarded cord hanging out of it.
Who the fuck thought they were being clever by making this lamp inefficient and hazardous?
"Enlights my life?" Everything about this product can suck a bag of dicks.

This is catastrophically bad design: you can trip over the power cord, and there's nothing preventing the lamp from moving in the breeze (for any place with forced-air heating and/or cooling). New ghost lamp produces light AND nausea!

Why are these so expensive when they have eliminated one of the most costly parts of a lamp (the base).
Because they are a "designed object."

I would call them Trip Lights personally, but that name is already taken.
all it takes is a username and password

is it really that easy? only one way to find out...
already have an account and just want to login?
